fake verification emails
by Seller_7Gzk2DXnerEBv

Please be careful; fake emails asking for your account details are circulating. If you have no red banner on your account, it's a fake

Fake reviews - the online plague
by Seller_ukxowJMQl15lj
Amazon replied

Amazon, please put your house in order!

Fake reviews by competitors are a real bottom of seller's morale. The 'verified purchase' is a joke - anyone can sacrifice a few pounds to buy a product and put a brand-damaging 'review' with no consequences.

For example, I can easily buy tea and then complain about my 'verified purchase' with a one-star review that it is not good coffee. It is just ridiculous and I am not seeing any proactive involvement from Amazon to tackle this issue or even act on reports!

Proposed long-term solution:

Reviews of 3 stars or less should be allowed ONLY AFTER evidence of prior communication between the buyer and the seller. Nothing else will effectively stop this real problem. And reviews must also allow a response from the seller.

Fake reviews - competitor sabotage
by Seller_6zYWw4XoqdEPS
Amazon replied

Hello,

I am writing to request the opportunity to speak directly with a moderator regarding a case of fake and malicious reviews.

Two of our products have recently received two verified-purchase reviews that were left in bad faith by the owner of a competing business selling similar products. The reviews are excessively harsh, factually incorrect, and are intended solely to damage our product’s reputation rather than provide genuine feedback.

We have substantial evidence directly linking the reviews to this competitor, including:

An invoice in the competitor’s real name confirming the purchase - he is the only individual who has purchased both products together, making him the only person able to leave two verified-purchase reviews on both listings, and the reviews are exactly the same

Proof that the reviewer is the owner of a rival business selling books on the same subjects

Evidence showing the reviews were posted the same day the books were delivered, making it impossible for the content to have been read properly

Unfortunately, the automated reporting forms do not allow attachments or detailed evidence, which makes it impossible to properly explain the situation through standard channels.

I would greatly appreciate the chance to share this documentation with a moderator so the case can be reviewed fairly and in line with platform policies regarding review abuse and competitor sabotage.

We had a sale for 2 weeks where we reduced the price on 22 ASINs. After that we put the prices back to MSRP.

We've now lost the buy box on all these ASINs as Amazon still thinks the "competitive price" is at the reduced sale prices. These products are not being sold anywhere online at the reduced prices.

No idea how long it will take for Amazon to catch up.

Anyone having a similar experience?

Fake 1 star review
by Seller_oZ0ygI16y5S4J
Amazon replied

Dear Support team

I've reported a fake review under my product several times but I see no case ID being created. I have then submitted a complaint via the violations tool on the health dashboard, Complaint ID: 12278510242 but the health team is unable to follow up. The review is fake as it starts with the comment "purchased elsewhere" - but I do not sell elsewhere. Could you please investigate this ?

This review is harming my business.

Best,

Rick

Sale of Monk Fruite Product on Amazon UK
by Seller_tOb7uSYIcWl69
Amazon replied

Hi,

This is a question for a friend's account who is struggling listing a few of their products on Amazon UK. Please read the situation below. As always any guidance is much appreciated.

"We've had a monk fruit decoction product suppressed on Amazon.co.uk under the EU Novel Food catalogue. We accept that monk fruit decoctions are treated as a novel food under EU rules, but this product is sold exclusively in the UK marketplace, not into the EU, so the EU law shouldn't be the applicable standard here.

We've disputed this 8 times with Amazon since early July, each time rejected. We've submitted the UK FSA's Article 4(2) determination (UK RP 1311), which confirms this category is not a novel food under UK law, along with a product specification and Guarantee of Compliance. However Amazon compliance team keeps on rejecting the appeal without providing further guidance on what is required by Amazon to sell this product on Amazon UK.

Has anyone else run into this, or successfully gotten Amazon to engage with an FSA determination for a UK-only listing? Looking for advice on what specific documentation or escalation path actually gets Amazon CS to look past the standard EU catalogue response. There are many listings of products similar to ours on Amazon UK so trying to figure out what documentation is deemed acceptable by Amazon on sale of such products in the UK"

Thanks

Had a good few years on amazon but sales have now completely collapsed. Nothing changed and simply dont know why the sudden loss in sales. So we are closing the shop and solely replying on our own website. Has anyone else closed their amazon store and gone solo with their own website? We are sick of the continuous jumping through hoops, customers fraudulently making claims, bad service by royal mail, and the DD+7 payment disbursements. Its simply not worth selling on here. Cost of advertising is through the roof as are the fees. Anyone else gone through similar?

Good luck with this!! My account was deactivated in December, I submitted all required documentation!! Multiple times, I appealed many times, I was told the invoices I was producing were "fake", when they were not. I submitted invoices, bank statement, proof of postage, copies of retailer accounts showing products brought, but they would not accept the product was not fake. I stacked my shop up, just before Xmas in time for the Xmas shopping. It is still not resolved!! I am now trying to get all my products back to close the shop down, but it's proving very difficult. It is absolutely disgraceful. I set my shop up because I have cancer and couldn't work at my usual employment, but this honestly has caused me so much stress, I wish I had not bothered. Good luck !!
