    Had a good few years on amazon but sales have now completely collapsed. Nothing changed and simply dont know why the sudden loss in sales. So we are closing the shop and solely replying on our own website. Has anyone else closed their amazon store and gone solo with their own website? We are sick of the continuous jumping through hoops, customers fraudulently making claims, bad service by royal mail, and the DD+7 payment disbursements. Its simply not worth selling on here. Cost of advertising is through the roof as are the fees. Anyone else gone through similar?

    yes our items would pass a 125cm drop test.

    but if amazon then do not put items in suitable packaging then damage will occur this is separate from any drop tests

    for example a 4kg board game was routinely being sent by amazon in a paper bag!

    I personally ordered 2 bicycle d locks from an amazon fba seller (these are the heavy bicycle locks - solid D shape) and on both orders they came again in paper bags.

    we do our part but it seems the despatch team at the fba warehouse are trying to save as much money as possible on packaging (claiming environmental progress) - but still charge us the same amount.

    Hi all,

    Hope you can help? I was deregistered for VAT on the 1st August this year and contacted Amazon straight away to inform them. They are now demanding a VAT number from me and obviously I haven't got one. I filled out all their forms yesterday but again when it came to the tax form it wanted a VAT number so I sent a screenshot of the message from HMRC saying that as of the 1st of August I will be deregistered from VAT but need to pay my VAT up to the 31st July 2026. It was a very basic message and didn't have my Vat number as it was sent direct to my HMRC messages.

    Has anyone been through this? I'm literally pulling my hair out as I've been in business for 15 years and Amazon are saying I have 56 days to comply or they will stop my selling rights.

    Hope someone can point me to some help. I spoke to an advisor for almost an hour yesterday and they said to fill out the form. AAArgh!

    How do I find my storefront shop page URL?

    I want to put my amazon storefront URL onto some promotion material -but have hit a brick wall with regards finding out what it is.

    I thought it was amazon.co.uk/shops/ABC

    (obviously ABC being my user display name) - but this does not work. I get a page that says the web address is not a functioning page on the site.

    So I googled the question and was told I could get it from Settings-Account Info-Business Information

    But no - there is no store URL I can see under any of the options.

    So I tried Settings-Account Info-Store Info

    This has a link for 'Your Seller Profile' - and clicking that just shows me all the country sites I am able to sell on (I only sell on the UK site)

    Another googled method told me to :

    Navigate to one of your active product listings on the Amazon website. Find the "Sold by" section under the buy box. Click on your Seller Name. On the next page, click the link that says "[Your Seller Name] Storefront"

    But there is no [Your Seller Name] Storefront link

    There is, however, a sequence of tabs one of which is 'Products' so I click that thinking it will take me to a list of my products which is does but the URL is (well I want to include the link but get told off for using offensive language trying to post with a link even though it is an Amazon web address but it is something like amazon/s?me=A1B3RD1FRZK8FD&marketplaceID=A1F83G8C2ARO7P

    Which again is hopeless for me to use in promotion material

    I just want a simple URL I can put on promotion/advertising material to direct customers to my amazon store but everything I try leads me nowhere. It cannot be this hard for me to give customers a link so they can go straight to my products/store on Amazon surely?

    As you are using Royal Mail as your courier, is there any specific reason why you do not want to use buy shipping?

    Apart from major bulk discount, everything stays the same, including average weight and your annual postings, as it is all through your RM account number.

    Integrating your Royal Mail account into Amazon allows you to keep your negotiated Royal Mail rates and gives you the protections on your OTDR as well as VTR and a few other protections from negative feedback over courier deliveries.

    All your buy shipping mail can go in the same bags as your Click & Drop mail as long as it is the same stream, ie T24 RM48 etc.

    There is no need to separate Amazon mail from your other mail, just the need to download the end of day manifest for your postman to scan as well as your C&D manifest.

    Although it is very maddening that Amazon have deactivated you for using Royal Mail, but will reactivate you if you use Royal Mail through their Buy Shipping settings.

    Nothing has changed, same company, same staff, same network, same everything except Amazon has it run through them for whatever reason they have decided.

    But unfortunately, it is their sandbox and their rules.

    If you send out Amazon Prime, it is contractual for you to use Buy Shipping in order to be able to ship Prime.

    Personally, i prefer Buy Shipping over C&D as it is more stable, especially at Christmas when C&D goes offline several times for hours, causing stress not being able to produce any labels.

    Anazon won’t phone you unless you are on the Professional plan and raise a case asking g for a call back- sometimes even that doesn’t work
