Had a good few years on amazon but sales have now completely collapsed. Nothing changed and simply dont know why the sudden loss in sales. So we are closing the shop and solely replying on our own website. Has anyone else closed their amazon store and gone solo with their own website? We are sick of the continuous jumping through hoops, customers fraudulently making claims, bad service by royal mail, and the DD+7 payment disbursements. Its simply not worth selling on here. Cost of advertising is through the roof as are the fees. Anyone else gone through similar?

Hi all,

Hope you can help? I was deregistered for VAT on the 1st August this year and contacted Amazon straight away to inform them. They are now demanding a VAT number from me and obviously I haven't got one. I filled out all their forms yesterday but again when it came to the tax form it wanted a VAT number so I sent a screenshot of the message from HMRC saying that as of the 1st of August I will be deregistered from VAT but need to pay my VAT up to the 31st July 2026. It was a very basic message and didn't have my Vat number as it was sent direct to my HMRC messages.

Has anyone been through this? I'm literally pulling my hair out as I've been in business for 15 years and Amazon are saying I have 56 days to comply or they will stop my selling rights.

Hope someone can point me to some help. I spoke to an advisor for almost an hour yesterday and they said to fill out the form. AAArgh!

Many thanks

Sandy

Amazon can apply their own rules if they wish as it’s their platform and reputation on the line. This is fine but only if these rules are documented. Check the following policy.

Expiry dates on FBA products

I don’t think that Lawn and Garden products are specifically mentioned reading it quickly but I searched online using the query “do lawn and garden products require an expiry date on amazon” and it confirmed that “certain” lawn & garden products are covered.

The policy only applies to FBA so you could sell as FBM without restriction.

Hello Amazon Team,

I am requesting urgent help from the Europe/UK Seller Verification / Payments team.

My account has been suspended for over 10 days, even though I have already submitted all required KYC documents (GST, MSME, IEC, Shop Establishment, etc.), and they have been under review for days with no update.

The issue is:

• No one is telling me if any document is missing or incorrect

• No clear reason for the delay

• My case has already been escalated by Account Health team, but still no response

Yesterday, some funds were even released to my bank account, which indicates verification may be partially processed — but my account is still inactive.

This is extremely stressful as:

• My FBA inventory is blocked

• My business operations are completely stopped

• This is my primary source of livelihood

I have tried:

• Multiple emails to Seller Verification → No response

• Account Health call → Already escalated

• Cases opened → Closed or no resolution

👉 I respectfully request the Seller Verification team to urgently review my case and provide a clear update — whether any additional document is needed or what exactly is pending.

Please help resolve this as soon as possible.

Thank you.

by Seller_nex6aLZ9HPynF
Amazon replied

Since 15:30 on Wed 23rd July I have not received any emails from Amazon for sales (or any other notifications)

The email address is receiving emails, just not from the Amazon.

Anyone else having issues?

No response from emails
by Seller_iCKgE5N9hULae
Amazon replied

We are trying to get our account reactivated due to verification issues. Not our issue, we have submitted the correct information but Amazon will not accept.

We keep getting automated replies and need a human to explain the issues to.

We are a hospice charity and depend on these funds. It has been deactivated since March.

I need help in getting someone from Amazon to actually contact me.

How do I find my storefront shop page URL?
by Seller_tRuvBEHDedp4q
Amazon replied

I want to put my amazon storefront URL onto some promotion material -but have hit a brick wall with regards finding out what it is.

I thought it was amazon.co.uk/shops/ABC

(obviously ABC being my user display name) - but this does not work. I get a page that says the web address is not a functioning page on the site.

So I googled the question and was told I could get it from Settings-Account Info-Business Information

But no - there is no store URL I can see under any of the options.

So I tried Settings-Account Info-Store Info

This has a link for 'Your Seller Profile' - and clicking that just shows me all the country sites I am able to sell on (I only sell on the UK site)

Another googled method told me to :

Navigate to one of your active product listings on the Amazon website. Find the "Sold by" section under the buy box. Click on your Seller Name. On the next page, click the link that says "[Your Seller Name] Storefront"

But there is no [Your Seller Name] Storefront link

There is, however, a sequence of tabs one of which is 'Products' so I click that thinking it will take me to a list of my products which is does but the URL is (well I want to include the link but get told off for using offensive language trying to post with a link even though it is an Amazon web address but it is something like amazon/s?me=A1B3RD1FRZK8FD&marketplaceID=A1F83G8C2ARO7P

Which again is hopeless for me to use in promotion material

I just want a simple URL I can put on promotion/advertising material to direct customers to my amazon store but everything I try leads me nowhere. It cannot be this hard for me to give customers a link so they can go straight to my products/store on Amazon surely?

Withdraw from EU FBA
by Seller_RLXCX068q9bgP
Amazon replied

It's been so long since I last dealt with listings in the EU that I can't find what I'm looking for. Plenty of indications on expanding in the EU but that's the opposite of what I'm looking for.

I wish to stop FBA storage for pan EU, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Italy as I am looking to de-register for VAT in those same countries.

I'm happy to keep FBA EU fulfilment but only from stock held in the UK.

Any pointers would be welcome.
