Had a good few years on amazon but sales have now completely collapsed. Nothing changed and simply dont know why the sudden loss in sales. So we are closing the shop and solely replying on our own website. Has anyone else closed their amazon store and gone solo with their own website? We are sick of the continuous jumping through hoops, customers fraudulently making claims, bad service by royal mail, and the DD+7 payment disbursements. Its simply not worth selling on here. Cost of advertising is through the roof as are the fees. Anyone else gone through similar?

brand ungate for my shop
by Seller_KNsAlNj0BBiuN
Amazon replied

Hi All - I'm having a hard time getting a response to an ungate appeal. Originally the response was set for 17th February but I still haven't had a response on the case.

Anyone else experience this? Any idea how long it'll take for them to get back to me?

How do I find my storefront shop page URL?
by Seller_tRuvBEHDedp4q
Amazon replied

I want to put my amazon storefront URL onto some promotion material -but have hit a brick wall with regards finding out what it is.

I thought it was amazon.co.uk/shops/ABC

(obviously ABC being my user display name) - but this does not work. I get a page that says the web address is not a functioning page on the site.

So I googled the question and was told I could get it from Settings-Account Info-Business Information

But no - there is no store URL I can see under any of the options.

So I tried Settings-Account Info-Store Info

This has a link for 'Your Seller Profile' - and clicking that just shows me all the country sites I am able to sell on (I only sell on the UK site)

Another googled method told me to :

Navigate to one of your active product listings on the Amazon website. Find the "Sold by" section under the buy box. Click on your Seller Name. On the next page, click the link that says "[Your Seller Name] Storefront"

But there is no [Your Seller Name] Storefront link

There is, however, a sequence of tabs one of which is 'Products' so I click that thinking it will take me to a list of my products which is does but the URL is (well I want to include the link but get told off for using offensive language trying to post with a link even though it is an Amazon web address but it is something like amazon/s?me=A1B3RD1FRZK8FD&marketplaceID=A1F83G8C2ARO7P

Which again is hopeless for me to use in promotion material

I just want a simple URL I can put on promotion/advertising material to direct customers to my amazon store but everything I try leads me nowhere. It cannot be this hard for me to give customers a link so they can go straight to my products/store on Amazon surely?

Used and Return
by Seller_hnJy2He6uzeGX

One way to avoid this is to do retail standard packaging.

For example, if you buy something in a shop it should have tamper proof packaging. Similarly if you box or bag your item in tamper proof packaging, then when and if it is returned to Amazon, they may class it as unsellable and return it to you or refund you. Also perhaps put a tag on the product which would need to be cut off - this may deter a return.

It is not easy as so many customers across so many textiles platforms expect to be able to do this. You certainly need to build a healthy percentage return rate into your margin expectations.

OSS One Stop Shop Storage
by Seller_FtB41fa7DVXUq
Amazon replied

Hi, we’re a US seller with VAT IDs in DE, FR, ES, and the UK. When using OSS, does Amazon keep that 'OSS inventory' separate, or is it just pulled from our general FBA stock stored in those local warehouses? I'm trying to understand the physical storage workflow for OSS-covered sales

We are experiencing an issue in which customer orders arrive damaged due to inadequate packaging when sent via FBA.

Our garments are stored in clear polythene bags with ventilation holes. These holes are a legal requirement to prevent suffocation. Because of this, the polythene bags are not suitable as outer shipping packaging — they offer no protection against dirt, moisture, or damage in transit.

We are currently enrolled in the Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) programme for some SKUs. It appears Amazon is applying shipping labels directly to these polythene garment bags and dispatching orders with no additional outer packaging. We never actually applied to be within the SIPP, so we only realised this was happening when customers started complaining.

We noticed the packaging says it needs to be in a "Flexible Bag". We need to understand whether this means:

- The bag that we, as the seller, provide when sending stock into Amazon in bulk, or

- A bag that Amazon applies at the fulfilment centre before dispatching to the customer, such as a recyclable brown mailing bag

Our understanding was that Amazon would be responsible for placing the item into an appropriate outer bag prior to dispatch. If the SIPP programme means Amazon is simply applying a shipping label directly to our polythene garment bag with no additional packaging, we need to know how to prevent this and what steps we need to take to ensure adequate outer packaging is applied before orders are shipped to customers.

Could someone please advise on the best course of action to prevent orders from continuing to ship without adequate outer packaging?

Are Amazon Ads Becoming Too Expensive to Be Worth It?
by Seller_uP1hiOIe2PE3u
Amazon replied

Hey fellow sellers,

I’ve noticed my ACoS has been creeping higher each month, even when my keywords are well-optimised. Feels like the competition is getting tougher, and I’m wondering if it’s still worth running ads at the same level.

👉 Are you reducing ad spend, switching to external traffic, or doubling down on Amazon PPC despite rising costs?

👉 Has anyone found a creative way to lower ACoS without killing sales?

Would love to hear what’s working for you right now — I think this is something a lot of us are struggling with.

Issue with my account health
by Seller_LocUZRwKfk3Fi

I just got flagged that my account is at risk for two return products. (1) was a dog feed that I packaged inside a poly-bag and the customer indicates that since the product was packed inside the poly-bag, it means it has been opened before. (2) the customer sited that a wrong product was shipped to her because listing said skin lotion on Amazon, but new and improved products name is now body lotion. what should I do?

Simply_NikNaks1 . You’re not wrong 😄

And sure even Dougal_Amazon knows some of us have gone very quiet lately… probably Dougal_Amazon trying to keep us busy to decode Amazon philosophy 🤯

It’s like:

👉 egg or chicken

👉 policy or interpretation

👉 clear sky… but somehow you still can’t see anything 😂

Meanwhile, Dougal (AI or actual human… still under investigation 👀) keeps pointing us back to Amazon philosophy & The Amazon Seller University — at this stage I’m expecting them to launch a full online PhD soon:

“Advanced Studies in Policy Interpretation & Account Survival” 🎓

Honestly, this topic feels like one of those:

“Everything is clear… but nothing is clear” situations. I do read forum to keep me busy as not much sell anyway . Good Luck . have a fun .
