I am an Amazon FBA seller in the UK. I also made my inventory to be sold to EU countries including Austria. I do not send/store my products to warehouses in the EU countries, Amazon simply ships it on order basis from the UK.
I received the following email and my question is, what do I have to do? if my sales are only 3000 Euro for the past 12 months for all EU countries including Austria. I am confused by the part that is highlighted in red in the snapshot below, asking to provide any VAT number held in EU, but I am not required to register for VAT in any of the EU countries for the same reasons, I do not sell enough to meet their threshold of VAT, I do not store inventory in any of the EU countries. So what do I do?

if you are uk based and do not meet the criteria for vat registration at the bottom of the email then you do NOT need to be vat registered in austria or the uk if you are uk based and do not cross the 85k threshold
Another generic tax email from Amazon trying to remind everyone to get regulated. It doesn’t neccesarily mean it’s applicable to your account. We got one too.
So do we simply ignore this and do nothing?
Does anyone know if Amazon have a warehouse in Austria, if so, do you now when it first opened?
I was using PAN EU FBA a couple of years ago, so if they have a centre in Austria it’s possible some of my stock was stored there, triggering the need for VAT registration. I’ve looked at the daily inventory reports and I don’t have anything in Austria now.
Thanks FinerFilters and Anglozone.
I don’t have the Multi-Country Inventory report, must only be available if you’re currently using PAN EU.
I hope you’re right about Austria not being part of the PAN EU network, I will be OK as I stopped using PAN EU in March 18, before the first centre opened, but when I get all my VAT numbers through I had planned to restart it.
Hi Rik,
Well, I just switched it off and continued using the EFN network.
If you have stock stored in a certain country and you sell there, then Amazon should still use that stock to fulfil the order.
To be honest, I would get advice from Amazon, as now I have a few pieces of stock in several countries in reserved status, even though they are sellable and I don’t know why. I’m trying to get them removed, but the removal orders were auto-cancelled. My DE account was deactivated, so that might be the reason I can’t remove them from Germany but it doesn’t explain the other countries.
This might be a daft question but where can I check in my seller account whether my listing is available as EFN or PAN EU FBA? I cannot find that setting. Though I know I am not sending stock to other countries to store it is all fulfilled from the UK but I still want to check where this setting is.

Stall them until 31st December…
