Does anyone know how long Amazon give a customer to make payment on an order?
Using an order managements system we have an “open orders” section, this is all incoming orders from a variety of sales channels that needs fulfilling, but it can also show orders that are not yet paid, that are resends etc etc.
I have in excess of 20 orders going months back which are parked, but just making a mess of my open orders screen. On Amazon they are showing as “Payment Pending” and there are no buttons that I can click to take any action such as “too long waiting for payment, cancel order”.
Does anyone know if there is a limit to how long orders like this stay open on Amazon?
It’s not a game ender, but in terms of keeping my business neat and tidy, these are orders that are taking up room with their unpaid status and hurt my OCD
Thank you for any responses.
Pending orders / payments can last from days to about 2 weeks or so.
The pending signifies an issue with the buyer’s credit / debit card.
If the buyer fails to respond to Amazon’s notification emails Amazon finally cancels the order.
sometimes B2B buyers don’t pay immediately, you have to wait for 30-90 days.
On Amazon, I usually reckon that pending orders will either convert to a sale or disappear within two weeks.
Thank you for the answers, I admit I have nothing older than 2 weeks at this time in my OPEN ORDERS but I just don’t like unpaid items that are over a day old
Thanks for the help.
Amazon will email customers to pay, and if the customer is not interested in this order, Amazon will cancel the order. If the customer responds, you need to wait about 2 weeks to cancel the order naturally.
Depends if it’s business buyers showing "Open Invoices - Pending Buyer Payment " these are on 30 day terms from Amazon, if it’s reserved stock awaiting payment we’ve found this is typically where the buyers card has declined or has an issue and is waiting on the buyer to resubmit the payment , they would have recieved email notification from Amazon, during this process the stock is shown in the reserved status , and the order detail is not fully shown
