Hi Everyone,
We are new sellers to Amazon and these are our first products that we have spent quite a bit of money on and I’m afraid we’ve wasted our money because we can’t get approval. We have PL baby feeding sets and baby diapers awaiting shipment that are currently with our suppliers. I can’t get them shipped because I require approval in these categories but keep getting denied. They give no specific reason and the email for both requests are as follows:
“ Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
We have reviewed your account and determined that you are not eligible to sell [Baby Diapering]/[Baby Feeding] products. We evaluated the information you provided, however, it did not pass our review.
We apologise for any inconvenience that our decision has caused you. We took this course of action to ensure the mutual success of our sellers and buyers on our site.
This decision does not necessarily reflect poorly on you or your seller account. We take a number of factors into consideration.
We value your participation and hope that you will continue to sell on Amazon in an effort to build your performance history.
We appreciate your understanding.
Thank you for selling with Amazon.”
Does anyone know what documents are required in order to get approval? I’ve sent everything from invoices, to multiple packaging images, receipts and supplier information. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
KH Emporium
Are you importing these from China, by any chance ?
There are VERY strict labelling and H&S requirements for baby products, and it is well known that many products from China do not meet the requirements.
As a new seller, you need to read Amazon’s Seller University - got to Resources - Tutorials, and you will find all you need to know.
I can’t help with specifics for the baby category, but there are others on here who may be able to help.
Thank you for your reply, we greatly appreciate it. Yes I am importing them from Amazon but the suppliers have provided us with the certificates as well. Could it be because we are new sellers and do not have any previous selling history?
I will definitely have a look on Amazon University too.
Thanks,
KH Emporium
As per above, when Amazon give that response it is usually down to you being a newer seller with a lack of account history rather than your products or invoices. That doesn’t mean that they may not find an issue with your products or invoices if you reapply later though.
If cancelling isn’t an option, get them shipped to you. Store them in the attic, basement etc for 3 months and in the interim try to build a sales history in a different category. Apply again in September and see what happens - if you get approved then you have time to hit the Christmas period.
Even as the ‘wholesaler’ you need to be 100% sure you have all the safety requirements and certification that is acceptable for selling in the UK.
You need just one problem and you could be ruined - hence the need for insurance, ESPECIALLY for baby products.
The toy category is also very difficult to get into, and don’t even think about health supplements etc.
Best bit of advice I and Many more on here would say… Give up on your rag to riches on amazon I’m afraid whoever put that in your mind needs a slap.
Sorry for my bluntness…
Due diligence is the starting point… Ie do I spend my life savings on baby diapers … I think the saying is…
You have flushed your hard earned cash down the toilet…
Good luck I think you might need it my friend.
And yeah I’m a hard hearted cnt
I wouldn’t be selling the products anywhere until you have done proper research to make sure your products are safe and meet or exceed UK safety regulations.
Read seller university and then go back and read it again.
If you are selling on amazon as your own brand get brand registered. Before you list any products. You want to protect your brand.
Get yourself proper insurance.
Then think about listing products for sale on amazon or other selling platforms.
As a mother I don’t buy baby items from amazon or ebay or any other marketplace because people are more concerned with making money than making sure things are safe.
I have a feeling my words will be lost in the Scottish wind lol
Start up a shop in your local area selling nappys… But I do believe ur amazon experience is over before it started.
Respect for ur keennes… How much have you put into this venture?
Anything that’s been personalised I don’t think is refundable I might be wrong.
It’s not life changing amount… Only you can decide your path.
Some folk choose products they understand some piggy back off others products.
Or just get a job it might be way less stress if your a student
Don’t know if this thread may be of any use to you regarding the safety of your products:
