Click and drop in one sack

Hi

Just started to use click and drop

I use Royal Mail 48 large letters, i have a flat rate for 100-250g weight band, only use this occasionally if the average weight is going to be over 100g then i put a few heavier items through on the flat rate

Does any one know if it is ok to put all 48 LL together of would i need to but the flat rate items in a different sack to others

All the same service / speed

Thanks

As long as it’s all the same service/speed, it shouldn’t be an issue.
They can get a bit antsy if you mix things up otherwise, but it really depends on the office that your actually dropping them off at. I mix and have no issues at all.
But they are very easy going at my sorting office.

I maybe wrong - best to ask your account manager but I don’t think you are supposed to flip between flat rate and non flat rate for the same format ie large letters

The point of flat rate is that you pay that agreed price for all items in that format and class regardless of weight

I was always told if it has a separate line on the manifest then it needs a separate bag.

So if your manifest has 3 lines, you should be submitting 3 bags…

Yes you put all same postal class and size in one bag. The so 2nd & 48 can go in same bag. The manifest deals with the separate price bands your using. So you could have 2 possibly 3 lines on the manifest but because they are classed as second class services they all go in one bag.
I put BPL(2nd class) in same bag as my CRL(48). Never had an issue with that. Parcels or packets as it shows on the bag label is a separate bag.
You don’t need separate bag for your different weights. The separation is done by postal class 1st/24, 2nd/48 or special, and size letter, large letter, parcel/packet.
If you’ve not got one a handy tool is the size slots for the different size of post. helps prevent surcharges for trying to send a parcel as a large letter.

Ok Thanks Guys, i asked the account manager and got this reply : you can group all Large letter 48 traffic together although you would need to accurately input the daily average weight of these parcels

Aside from confusing large letters and parcels, if i ever get a fine or the mail centre moaning i can just say i was told this was ok

What code are you using in click and drop for flat rate scheme ? It should start with PK (or possibly FS)

If those are what you are using for flat rate, and putting the odd one through as standard CRL, they will be on separate lines on your manifest and therefore require separate bags

If you are using CRL for all of them, that’s not flat rate - just average weight and as long as they are on one line on the manifest, they can go in the same bag
