EAN Listing Issues

Hi,

Can Anyone Share Info On Listing a product with an EAN Issue and where i could possibly going wrong…

When trying to list the product i have checked whether the EAN is already registered on the amazon platform ( i do this two ways one by checking the product on amazon’ search bar- it comes up black secondly checking the catalog on the sellers platform- again no listing.

As i begin to create the listing the vital info pops up with an error listing- usually showing it clashes with an existing ASIN. When searching for this ASIN in the catlog or on the option to attach yourself to the listing the ASIN shows blank and no results are shown.

Each time i have to contact seller support - who request on info on the product, photos etc and sometimes this is a week long process just to list ONE item.

Any help or info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Have you tried typing the ASIN into Google search this will show if it is is being used in another marketplace or region US, Japan, India etc…
Also you can check the EAN in the add product part of seller central and change the drop down country each time.

I have had this issue with so many items and it is tiresome. I now have a lot of inventory sitting waiting to be listed because the time it takes, not including when the standard template response declines it and you have to do it several times, is a right royal pain. On some of the items I have found, when it gives you the red text for the ASIN clash, if you copy the ASIN text that it states you are clashing with, it usually lets the listing go through. Then I just check if the listing contains the correct information for the product and go from there. Sometimes, the information is correct and the listing is good to go. Other times it contains errors which then becomes a listing amendment case, which I’m sure you’re aware is a whole other issue.

It always baffles me that, as a genuine product seller, I have all these hoops to jump through and get blocks at every point, whereas someone else manages to create a listing that is the incorrect brand for the image shown and the listing information is pretty rubbish. How is that possible?
