Emails from Amazon regarding active credit card and database migration issues
Has anyone been getting emails from Amazon today telling them that their credit card charging info has been updated for the European marketplaces? Something like this
“As per your request, the credit card information associated with your seller account on Amazon has been updated. Future account charges will be made to this credit card.”
I didn’t change anything!
I have had such a stressful day thinking that my account was compromised.
But after looking at the main forums it seems that lots of sellers have been receiving these and it seems connected to the launch of Amazon Sweden/Netherlands/Poland.
More bizarrely, when I checked the credit card info set up for charging, it had been changed to an expired card of mine that in fact expired last year so there is no way this was the active card yesterday.
And the name for my deposit bank account has been changed to my name (it should of course be the business name). As a result, I have a notice telling me now that I have to add a deposit method. even though I have been using this bank account for years. Once again, I am sure that yesterday the bank account name was set up as it should be.
Another user on the Amazon forum has stated that a friend’s address from their personal account was added as the address for their charge method credit card on their seller account.
This makes me think that Amazon has been “mapping data” associated with the launch of new marketplaces and some of that data is not being mapped to where it should be.
Has anyone else noticed anything similar today? Especially with the random incorrect pieces of data appearing?
