Evidence of export for zero rate VAT - FBA
Hi!
My first post here advice would be highly appreciated.
I just had my first post Brexit non UK sale through FBA. It was sold on Amazon.co.uk and shipped from a UK fulfilment centre to a customer in Ireland.
I am unsure how to handle VAT on my invoice. Technically I should zero rate the sale.
GOV.UK website says that I need to keep a proof of export if I zero rate a sale:
'### 6.3 Commercial transport evidence
This describes the physical movement of the goods, for example:
- authenticated sea waybills
- authenticated air waybills
- PIM/PIEX International consignment notes
- master air waybills or bills of lading
- certificates of shipment containing the full details of the consignment and how it left the UK or EU
- International Consignment Note/Lettre de Voiture International (CMR) fully completed by the consignor, the haulier and the receiving consignee, or Freight Transport Association own account transport documents fully completed and signed by the receiving customer’
Any idea how can I retain any of the above if the sale went through FBA? Amazon doesn’t share any details of the tracking/delivery/etc.
Thank you

Hi
Have you been abl
e to find out more as I am also struggling with this and what I need to report to HMRC for these sales.
I am considering turning off FBA export to stop these sales.
Thanks

What I have found out is on the Amazon VAT report for the month it shows all the zero rated VAT sales to the EU and rest of world.

According to my accountant Eu orders are out of scope of VAT (0%) if it was shipped from the UK and Amazon’s shipment notification email (with the tracking number) can be used as proof of export.
