FBA Pricing

Hi All,

Our company are looking to begin selling one of our products we manufacture here in Ireland (sugarpaste/roll out icing) onn Amazon under FBA. The product comes in a box -13.5cm wide, 29cm in length & 12.5cm high. Total weight of the box of sugarpaste is 5kg. How do I calculate the price Amazon will charge us for this product or can someone help us with the final price FBA will be looking for on this particular product?

Many thanks in advance.

Go to help - and search fba fees calculator and there is a table of fees plus a revenue calculator you can use

Don’t forget you may need uk vat reg to send stock to uk fba

N.I or Eire ?
Also, as this is a food item I believe there will be very specific labeling requirements.

Have you checked out Amazon Seller University ?

Just to chip in some bits here…
If you wanted a fairly accurate idea of Amz costs - find a similar icing product in size and weight and use the fba calc with your cost - it will be close enough for a good indication of what you’ll end up paying if you can find a close enough “match”.
Eg - if you wanted to sell your own 12 pack of tinned soups - then you should easily find Baxters or Heinz etc in the Amz catalogue & using the FBA calc will give you a v.close idea of your own costs for your own tins of soup (or icing in this case) - if you get me!

Check out your competitions products - this will give you an idea of the price point that can be achieved (or undercut) - & again using the FBA calc will give you a reasonably accurate idea of profit.

Some third party software packages for checking sales numbers could also be considered - this will show you what sort of sales numbers are being achieved over a given period, and will show pricing history, so you can see what the “norm” is over a period of time.

Given the weight of your product - boxes will not be cost effective (as Neil has said) 1 x 20kg box into amz on UPS partnered carrier is about £4.78 I think - so you would be looking at about £1.20 per unit just in shipping cost - so probably have to be palletised for sending to Amz.

Lastly - I personally would never close my seller account, there’s so many hoops to jump through to get one in the first place! - and you only really get 1 account for life - so keep it! - even if you never use it (Bit like a spare credit card in the wallet - there if and when you ever need it in the future!) - and who knows what other obstacles you might face in the future if you closed this account and then changed your mind in the future and went to reopen a new account!!! - I dread to think

Good luck however you proceed.
