Government gateway ID

Hi,

I am currently employed Full time and would like to be self employed as my legal entity type on Amazon seller central. I also have a dormant company on company house that has never traded and probabily will never do unless i make it big time on Amazon. I was wondering do i need to make a seperate new login government Gateway account for my self assessment on gov website.

That would mean overall i have 3 different account on the government website being:

my employed job account
self employed account
business account

and all would have different logins, is this the correct way im supposed to go about it like are there any fees or penalties?

AFAIK your government gateway is for you as a person and therefore you should only have one which has all your info on there -
Employment
Benefits
Self Employment
National insurance
Pension
Etc

Are you not already on there for reporting your ltd company dividends etc

What are you registered on amazon as now though as I recall a previous thread where there was a discussion about your entity

As far as I know each entity gets their own Government ‘account’

So you as an individual (covers everything you personally earn, PAYE, Self Employed, Sole Trader etc.)

Your Limited Company as an ‘individual’ - I think they call it a business tax account,

how would i exactly get proof to show that i am self employed ?? I havent made 1000 pounds out of trading anything in fact i havent even began. I have the company that is dormant but with that i would have to file for a dormant tax return every year so thats fine. The only issue right now is how do i actually become self employed with HMRC as when i log in to my individual/personal UTR for my personal employee tax there is no option for me to register as self employed or even file for anything for a self assessment to HMRC. THe only thing i can think of right now is making 3 seperate government gateway ID’s. To me now it seems as though the best idea is to verify through the company. To be honest registering as a company has its advantage overall to self employed. But i was just wondering how would i provide documents to show i am self employed as my legal entity type to Amazon as i tried for 2 days to figure out how to get a UTR to be self employed and i failed in that.
