How to display a markdowned price comparison?

Hi guys

We just uploaded our first few listings but I am struggling in some price settings. Does anyone know how to display the listings’ original prices + discounted prices together (with crossed-out RRP)? I tried to put the original price in the List Price with Tax for Display section and also a sales price but nothing happened after saved the listing for 24 hours. Thank you for your help in advance!

Kind regards
Robin Valley

How long have you been selling at the RRP and original price then made the reduction?

I would have thought that is related to CTSI guidance around discounts. If a product has just gone on sale you can’t claim its discounted. Otherwise everyone could just list on amazon, say the actual price is £100 but now its £20 (which I think did used to happen)

It used to be a product had to be on offer for 28 days - however the most recent CTSI guidance doesn’t mention 28 days - just that sellers should consider a range of factors when making price claims, including how long a product has been on sale at the higher price. I imagine 2 days isn’t long enough.

I actually thought amazon automate a lot of this now, again to avoid instances of buyers claiming a higher sale price in the feed. I think it now takes the pricing live on amazon into account, though someone else may be able to confirm that.

Hey @Robin_Valley_Officia, (that’s a pleasant sounding username I might add.)

Welcome to Amazon! @JR_Wristbands & @osgood have provided excellent answers.

I will attach some further literature in regards to your questions Promotions, do pay heed to this text,

* According to the Amazon EU Policy on Reference Pricing, if you provide an RRP, you must ensure that it remains current. This includes ensuring that substantial sales of the product in question were made recently at RRP in the applicable store. If we determine that the RRP provided does not comply with the Amazon EU Policy on Reference Pricing, we will not display it.

I will also add this Price not changing: Troubleshooting guide, however this is for Automated Pricing, might it may help.

I hope this helps!

Regards,
Winston
