How to get own ASIN with an existing product

Hello everyone,

How to add a product with a your own ASIN? I think this is not possible as when a product already exist on Amazon, it comes with its ASIN

Or how to add a product without having to appear on someone’s else listing?

Each time I follow the basic procedure of " add a product", I find lots of similar products and I just pick one and click on " sell this product" but, I often receive complaints from other sellers about listing my products under theirs.

How can I not interfere with other people’s listing when selling a similar product?

Thanks

similar is not good enough you need to make sure they are 100% identical in every way

Does your product not have a EAN [European Article Number] - 13 digits and a barcode, just like the ones you see on almost anything you buy these days, everything from tins of beans to torch batteries? If it does, then search for that number on Amazon and, if you find it, add your stock to that listing

I’m sorry to hear about your problems but nothing is moving very fast with Amazon at present. Like every other large business, they have staff shortages and exceptional workloads. If you really are seling exactly the same products as these other sellers, they have no right to complain about your listing under the same ASIN. Let me try to explain. The first person to list, say, 400g tins of Heinz baked beans on Amazon will have created an initial catalogue entry, including the EAN barcode number. Amazon will have added their ASIN and the listing becomes Amazon’s - it’s NOT the seller’s listing. If you also want to sell these beans, you have to add your offer to that listing. If the original seller complains, report it back to Amazon as a breach of policy.
May I suggest that you step back for a while from the removal order and listing problems, and take time to look at Amazon’s Seller university pages and Programme policies. Make sure you understand them all, as it will save you a lot of further problems. Selling on Amazon is not the doddle it is often made out to be: it’s far more complicated than selling on eBay or in a high street shop
