Invoice help, who issues an invoice? me or amazon?

Good day to all,

I am a newbie and would like to learn what to do when,
1)A single-buyer orders 10 pieces of my product, and I am using FBA. So amazon, sends the goods to the buyer. he lives in the UK
The buyer receives the goods. Now…
When the buyer pays for the goods, do I issue an invoice on his name? Or does Amazon handle the invoice policy?

  1. a company orders the same amount. It is settled in the UK
Do i issue the invoice or Amazon?

Sorry for my silly questions, but amazon really excels to drive people crazy with tons of info.

You manage all invoicing unless yo have signed up to Amazon’s VAT Calculation Service. If you have, they do it.

On a separate post, you said you only have a Greek VAT number. If you are using UK FBA, you need to have a UK VAT number. You’d better get one quick or you will find yourself suspended shortly.

I don’t see anything silly about your questions . They are very valid questions .

On another matter :
Important to note what # Rugsy has mentioned regarding a vat number . If you are not a UK citizen or UK Company you will be required to register for vat .

hmm maybe I’m getting everything wrong but how does it make a difference who actually makes an invoice in terms of just a document? no matter amazon or seller will do it, seller’s name will appear on invoice (not amazon’s). amazon doesn’t sell anything but seller does and vat calculation service just saves time for making invoices manually.

Also in the OP it is basically asked what is difference between selling to private person or company. Situation is simple when buyer and seller are in the same country, in this case invoice is issued with VAT to both private customer and company. It is more tricky when seller is from another country, has UK VAT and sells to UK company, then what happens with VAT in this case is not clear to me.
