Under manage orders I have seen the above tab (with the number of orders next to it), what an earth does that mean?

All it means is that you need to upload invoices for the orders.
There is another rather longer thread all about it.
At this point, Amazon still haven’t published any official announcement with instructions for sellers how to handle the “No invoice uploaded” alerts or whether it is mandatory.
Please check the main thread linked above with discussion regarding the subject for more information.
All other sellers are seeing the same alerts in their accounts:
405 invoices to upload hmm even for kids products which at 0% vat?
Just to be sure, is it mandatory to upload an invoice or we can leave it like that. If it is mandatory then from which date invoices have to be uploaded,
This shouldn’t apply to small sellers. I went to the page where you can automate all this (as opposed to doing your own invoices) and decided not to do it because I’m not vat reg’ed.
I used this https://www.easybill.de/en it’s a bit of a fiddle to set up but the support is excellent. Now all my invoices are automatically generated and uploaded twice per day. You have to pay a subscription of course.
I’m just going to ignore the invoice tab and tell any business buyers that I’m a small seller and can’t supply an invoice, the packing slip is all I can provide.
Which will mean vat registration being mandatory even for small sellers. You can’t get Amazon to do it automatically unless you are vat registered. It requires these details on the page when setting it up. That’s why I had to stop and leave the page.
Thanks very much. I wasn’t aware of that Amazon page, it explains it very well. I mentioned to someone else that I won’t have to do it often anyway. It makes sense that it’s an official receipt rather than an invoice. But either way I understand why some need it.
It’s a bit tricky because you have to remember to quickly generate it and send it off. I’ll do it for anyone who asks too.
Before I was mistakenly thinking that I’d have to do it for all the orders in the last few weeks (latest ones) because those are the only ones that have the red label next to them (No Invoice Uploaded).
Thanks very much, that was helpful.
On mine it just says Residential (or Business?) in small print, so easily missed. It’s a bit of a nuisance really because I’ll have to keep my eyes pealed. And some SS agents think you have to do it with all flagged orders regardless. That’s a lot of residential ones in my case. I guess they have to say that to cover themselves.
