Noticed a worrying new one on Item Not Received (false) complaints
A buyer just emailed me to say an order hasn’t arrived - nothing new here - except the “buyer” also complained last week about a different order. Both are showing as delivered at RM so I’ve sent my usual reply pointing this out.
But, on checking these out I noticed that the buyer name was different to the delivery name, so checked further and there have been 9 orders with different buyer names all posting to this one delivery name and address.
I had the same last week with a different delivery name and address, which I assumed was a couple of different family members buying for the same relative.
In each case, the addresses are identical, and I mean identical, the same capitalisation, punctuation etc. As if, you know, the exact same person was entering the addresses
Is this a new way to fly under Amazon’s radar? i.e. it looks like there are lots of different buyers “losing” orders rather than 1 buyer scamming lots of sellers?
Has anyone else noticed a similar pattern?

Yes, similar scenarios reported on here quite often.
The problem is Amazon now refund automatically and customers have cottoned on to this and are scamming big time - no conscience.

It’s the first time I’ve seen it. I’m FBM so thankfully Amazon are not doing automatic refunds (yet!)

I;m afraid I am not au fait with the modern world, and it could be all manner of scenarios, but as to the identical punctuation, just a thought.
If the addressee had their item on an Amazon " Wish List ", then anyone who buys, all orders would be sending to identical address ?
Dunno, some air headed duck faced wannabee on Insta or whatevah, with fans / admirers buying them stuff from their Amazon Wish List, and later trying to get their money back … its a strange world these days.

I appreciate that the buyer name they have given is different each time, but is the billing address of the purchaser different each time as well? This information can be found in your order reports by ensuring that you tick the box to display those columns in your generated reports. The buyer name, billing name and delivery name for 1 order can all be different from each other but the billing name could be the same for all of these orders. It may appear that different people are buying all these items to be sent to the same address but could it be the same person is behind it using the same credit card to buy them all via different accounts and just trying to disguise the issue by entering a different buyer name for the account? I’ve not seen this pattern before but as you say, it could be a new way of scammers trying to fly under the radar.

Yes im new to this and had 2 people this week saying that. One Ive refunded and sent a complimentary free item and the other I posted another out. My items are relatively low value at 3.99 so why do they feel the need. I want to give people the benefit of doubt but it really is annoying. I post 2nd class so my proof is nothing but a receipt. Who would have thought it, theres more shenanigans on Amazon than there is on the soaps!

It happens all the time, its a try on…the only problem for us is if the postman doesnt use his pda on the q code then it shows not delivered and we get caught. the worst part even though you have proved to amazon delivery has been made, they give your money back to them and the cycle begins again

Amazon state that the trust Royal Mail delivery scan as proof of delivery, however they are NOT doing this and I have had several A to Z claims raised and granted DESPITE proof of delivery. Last one was a parcelforce delivered parcel to the value of £200!!!
Amazon take a ridiculous amont of time to process and WILL NOT listen to reason!!!
It is THEFT which Amazon condone!!

Log it as fraud with Amazon - explain what you have said … apparently they do monitor this kind of thing …
