Possible new FBA scam in Christmas Sales - Beware
We have an expensive Christmas Tree listed on FBA Amazon. Sold on 10th Nov and delivered to the customer on 11th Nov. The buyer opened a return case on 13th November and they were refunded straight away. Today is 16th November – the item is not returned back to Amazon FBA centre nor do we know what was wrong with it.
We contacted the Amazon FBA seller support – they said the refund is issued to the buyer however they have 45 days to return the product and if it’s not return then we can open a case to investigate?
Our response: Is this transaction is insured for FBA Seller? Because it’s a Christmas product what if customer is using this product till the Christmas and then return it saying its faulty within 45 days. Is this possible fraudulent activity is protected for Seller by FBA Amazon? as Amazon should not refund the buyer if they have not posted it back and not been checked by Amazon FBA centre . This item is still the seller property and the sellers have sent it to Amazon FBA in good faith.
The seller support took nearly 10 mins to think and answer the question.
‘’I understand your concern, however we provided time frame for the buyer to returned the item. if the item did not returned to within 45 days your account will be credited and with regards to the question if we found out that buyer doing this kind of scam there account will possible to be closed’’.
I thought all of us buyers should actively discuss and debate issues here on Sellers Forum – As I think Amazon is an intelligent company and they must Amazon Intelligence Officers hiding in this seller forums who are silently monitoring these issues and problems and probably have pity 1 day to pass them onto their superiors who will probably understand 1 day the challenges faced by the sellers here on Amazon caused by a sudden policy changes with no sellers in mind.

The issue you face is, unfortunately, one that every seller will face at this time of year.
Don’t forget that buyers now have until the end of January to return goods purchased after the start of November under the “Extended Christmas Returns policy”.
Christmas Returns Policy
The Amazon Extended Christmas Returns Policy requires that orders shipped between 1 November and 31 December be returnable until 31 January of the following year. This policy includes orders that are shipped by you and orders that are shipped by Amazon.
