The threat itself is obviously not on, but it is a known tactic that will harm your amazon business.

Are you listing on any product listings where the product looks like something you sell, but there is actually a brand on the product page?

Have you recently listed on a product that has another seller on it?

These are tactics used by (primarily, but not exclusively) Chinese sellers.

Report the message and report any oddities on your account, orders staying in pending for ages etc. Document everything, so that if they do try and issue an A-Z on your account then you have evidence.

@Jessica what is Amazons stance here? I have seen this too many times on the forums and this behaviour should not be present on the worlds largest platform.

When you listed your item, did you take the barcode from the product itself to search the catalogue

Or did you jump on a listing with the same photos as your item ?

It’s not a scam, it’s a tactic used to scare off potential competitors. You’ve just joined here and you have been registered as a company for only a month so to get this kind of reaction, so soon, suggests you are listing on a product that already has serious competition.

I had something similar when I started here, I was told if I didn’t remove the products immediately they would ask Amazon to close my account. They claimed they were the only company allowed to sell this product in the UK and that I was committing a serious crime by selling it anywhere. I used the proper EAN to list it. As I was new to Amazon and didn’t have time to investigate I deleted the listing. The GTIN record didn’t match the alleged official distributor but matched the name of the generic brand I had bought and the wholesaler (a fairly large UK one that actually works mainly with eBay and Amazon sellers and provided FBA services) has reassured me that they have been selling that product for years and people can sell it whenever, as it’s generic.
The morale is that there are sellers out there using scare tactics to get rid of potential competitors but I would strongly advise to use the barcode to list items.

It’s a known tactic from Chinese sellers.

They will use multiple accounts, and purchase items to hold up stock. Some they will get delivered, then report the items as being fake / not arriving / anything bad that they can think of.

Amazon bots will look at these and cause issues with your account.

It’s not a scam. The message said you seized their buy box. It means they are selling a item before, and now you are selling the same item. Maybe your price is lower or other reasons, you got the buy box now.

So they sent this message warning you. If you didn’t remove your item out of listing, they will make some peoples to buy other items under your store. And then feedback one star review and complaint on your items. To make your store have many trouble.

The message have chinese words because they may suppose you are chinese seller also.
