Returns question

I’ve had my first return and an email from Amazon stating - been auto-authorised in accordance with the return policies.
Then it has links about the return and a link to contact the buyer. If it’s been authorised then why do I need to contact the seller and I’m so upset! - returned as it was a duplicate order .
The email also contains a link to the returns process which has nothing to do with returns but becoming a prime seller but fulfilled my merchant!!! Please help, I’m pulling my hair out.

Probably worth posting the email you received. Don’t get upset duplicate orders are just part of trading life, try not to treat it as personal.

so if you are fba it gets automatically granted
if you are fbm you should accept the return request when one comes through
that is all there is to think about but please dont worry about it as it is just part of the selling process wether online or bricks and mortar

If the return has been authorised you dont need to do anything, have a look at Amazon and just check that it says auto-authorised.

Please don’t stress this is one of the simplest sides to Amazon.
You are set up for auto return, this can be changed within your settings if you want a bit more control.
But ultimately you must accept all return requested within 30 days (more over Christmas period as they extend the window for gifts)
In this caser Amazon are doing it for you.
whether the buyer pays depends on reason they gave amazon when making request to return.
In this case it should be change of mind return so buyer pays for return, (when they realise its not free they may not return it and it will drop off the system in the future( I’ve had 3 this last quarter none have been returned)).
If it does arrive you can deduct a percentage based on the condition of the return but this is NOT a restocking fee but a depreciation in value fee Based on many factors but you can come back here for advise on what that should be,
Main thing is to now wait till it arrives nothing more you need to do until then.

Yes we have this issue now, you have to let them have labels now which WE have to pay for! and sy more than they would if they sent it back and you refunded them the cost. But when its a duplicate order why should we have to pay for it?? It makes me so mad.
