I have just received an email from Royal Mail stating:
Signed service
From 23 March 2020, we are substituting our International Tracked & Signed service to Canada with the International Signed service. Customers wishing to see end to end tracking can use our International Tracked service and those wishing to use a signed for service can opt for our International Signed service. We are making this change due to an insufficient level of tracking by our Canadian partners on the International Tracked & Signed service.
Now I always assumed Tracked and Signed was a full end to end tracked service with signature on delivery, but the email above seems to infer it is not.
I have asked my account manager for an explanation but just wandered if anyone here knows about it as well.

I think the idea is that it is, but with certain countries, they are not providing the full service required.
At least that’s how I read it anyway.
Obviously once the mail leaves the UK, it’s in the hands of the other country.
There are many countries to which Royal mail will offer just Tracked, or just Signed, but not Tracked AND Signed. This makes no sense to me, but it seems Canada has been added to this list.
There’s your answer there.
Basically the Canadians aren’t providing the detail the RM expect.
And earlier in the email it states:
That’s my point - I can still send Tracked to Canada and I can send Signed to Canada - but not Tracked and Signed?
