Sales drop _ all markets

Hi,

Has anyone else noticed a dramatic drop in sales the last couple of days? It is dead for a couple of days among all markets. It has never happened before. I am not sure what is going on. Obviously we checked listings, but boxes etc - everything is fine. People just stop buying …
Thank you!

I filled up my car with petrol yesterday & it cost me £90
Last year it cost me £60

My energy bill is up by £70 a month

4lt of milk is £1.99
a few months ago it was £1.39

I could go on forever

After paying bills, the “average” person doesn’t have any spare cash left

I am in panic. It was our only income. How to pay bills this month?! I can’t sleep, I can’t eat- I am so worried about it.
I did hope it was just a seasonal drop😱

We have seen a dramatic decrease in “Luxury” spending from our catalogue. We are lucky to have a larger catalogue, so the smaller, necessity items are keeping us afloat, but when peoples purses get even smaller, then we are sure to feel the pinch as well.

Hopefully this will pass, good luck!

I hope someone else will correct me if I am wrong, but I thought all mail order companies HAD to accept returns by law, I think it’s the Distant Selling Regulations. (?)
Judging by your negative feedback comments it sounds as if you do not accept returns, or in some circumstances make it very difficult for a customer to return, even if the product is faulty
Perhaps potential customers are reading through the negative comments, of which there are a lot, before making a decision whether to purchase from you

What’s changed for your negative feedback to spiral like this?

If this is your only income then I would spend time working out what happened (Deliveries and returns judging by the feedback you have received) and make changes now.

Blimey, your feedback is awful, while you are sorting it, can you take a job temporarily until things pick up if this is your only income,?

Almost every week someone comes up with a topic like this (sales dropped, sales are down massively etc.). Reason for this varies from seller to seller, and could be a lot of things. You might have received too many negative feedbacks/product reviews. The category as a whole may have been losing traffic/interest. Your product may not be an essential one and people are holding on to their money. During this period, customers are maybe waiting for the Prime Day special promotions.

Our sales are up quite a bit in the last few weeks, but I think from previous years that certain categories will get less sales in the week before prime day(s).

As is usual for us, we are suddenly booming. Our products kick in when times are tough, we do better in recessions etc as the products save money.

This is a sign times are tough, from a customer point of view. With the impending electricity/gas hike in October, the “spend” will start diving.
