Setting up FBA in USA?
Hi,
I’m interested in expanding to North America, and using FBA. My business is UK based(hand made goods).
I have some concerns regarding tax, as I’ve heard if you store a product on US territory (i.e. Amazon holds my products in its warehouse) I’ll need to pay certain taxes, like sales taxes, over there to their government on top of my usual UK ones, is this correct- is it as complicated as it sounds?
Thanks for any help.

Don’t worry, it isn’t complicated at all. Sales tax will be collected and remitted by Amazon on your behalf.
Before importing, you will need to find a carrier who will handle the customs clearance on your behalf. You need to be the importer of record and responsible for all duties and fees. Shipments valued under $1000 will not be subject to any import duties.
When you decide to use FedEx for example, you will find all the necessary documents on their website. They require 3x copies of invoices to be provided with each shipment.
Otherwise, just print the box label and attach it to the box along with the carrier’s label.
It’s just like shipping into UK FBA.
