Submitting 'Nil' EU VAT returns

I have recently reached the end of Avalara’s 1 year special offer for VAT filing services and have since terminated the contract with Avalara.

I am looking to VAT de-register for Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, France and Italy and will also need to file ‘nil’ VAT returns for these countries until I have de-registered.

Does anyone know how it is possible to file ‘nil’ VAT returns by myself now that I have terminated my agreement with Avalara? If not, what other options do you recommend? I have until 25/04/2022 to submit ‘nil’ returns for all the countries listed.

Thanks!

Hello there

I am currently deregistering myself, you can do some yourself quickly, some you may need a fiscal rep but you can hire them cheaper than what Avalara charge you

Germany: Can easily sign up to Elster portal where you can submit NIL returns, not sure about deregistering but I think it might be case of emailing them a form

Italy: Very easy, you simply email Italy for form and send it back to them, you can also backdate end date

France: Same as Italy, very easy, can email them form

Poland: I paid a tax rep from Fiverr £40 to do it for me, fully deregistered

Czech; Tax office replied to me after 5/6 weeks, with info on form to send them, but by this point I already hired a tax rep on fiverr for £30, nothing happened yet

Spain: Bit of a strange one for me, form is online but In Spanish and quite confusing so I was going to hire a very helpful person on fiverr agaim, but the Spanish Tax Office may have deregistered me anyway without my authorization, my VAT number no longer exists on VIES, BUT I really can’t be 100% sure they definitely have,

If you PM me ill send details of Fiverr agents and email addresses etc

As per previous threads, probably best to speak with a local accountant

The biggest issue I have so far is getting Amazon/Avalara to confirm they have ended my services with them, I am anticipating getting billed from them despite ending 2 days before the 25th deadline they give for the month

Does anyone know where Polish ‘nil’ VAT returns can be submitted whilst I’m waiting for my de-registration to go through?
