Using Amazon Shipping not viable for me
Last week, I had my listings removed because of valid tracking rate being below expected. The reason was that as my items are small and low value, I have always used Royal Mail 2nd class letter post. I have now had my listings reinstated on the understanding that I buy Amazon shipping. I have just purchased my first shipping label but there is no option for 2nd class letter post so I have had to choose 1st class and this has cost me £1.10 instead of 75p. I can’t afford to throw away 35p on every order.
Am I missing something, because I couldn’t find a 2nd class option in the dropdown.

Would 2nd class have met the delivery expectation?

If it is ‘Letter’ size then you must use Amazon’s Buy Shipping - no choice, but you should be able to choose either 1st or 2nd, unless your shipping settings are such that they won’t let you use 2nd as not arrive in time.
Ha, just above reply - you put it far better than I did, Demel !

But does 2nd class meet the time you’ve promised on your items?

Estimated delivery date
So if the item says estimated delivery date Tuesday, Amazon wont let you post 2nd class, for example

I’ve been having the same issue ever since Amazon forced me to use their Buy Shipping. It started with just the odd order here and there, but now it’s between 40% and 70% of my orders. It’s probably costing me about 30% of my profits. That’s on top of the 20% that they already ‘stole’ from me when I had to stop using my Franking machine.
I told Seller Support on April 27th and they’ve still not fixed it.
First they just didn’t read the messages properly (no surprise there), then they gave me a raft of nonsensical excuses as to why it was the case and was OK (because they still weren’t reading the messages properly and looking at the examples. Eventually they admitted that it shouldn’t be that way and have sent it to an “internal team” for investigation. That was about a month ago.
I’m sure everyone on here knows how utterly inept Seller Support are so I won’t go into more detail, but my opening line was “PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE PROPERLY”. Which they’ve rarely done.
If you look at the estimated delivery date that amazon creates, you’ll find that the problem orders have a date that’s only 2 days after the dispatch by date. As far as I can tell, this doesn’t even tie in with what the customer is being told.
Amazon have a lot to answer for. They’ve wrecked my business, but as far as I can tell, they are just pretending to listen.

I am not able to select letter, it’s disabled. It only allows me select small parcel, anyone knows how what I need to set to enable the letter option in buy shipping?

Go to your shipping settings and TURN OFF:
Shipping Settings Automation (SSA)
This setting allows amazon to dictate your delivery times to the buyer based on local regions performance with royal mail which means amazon are setting your delivery estimates on your behalf.
I had the exact same issue where amazon was forcing me to buy 1st class. If you turn off this setting and put 1 day handling time they will all go back to being 2nd class.
Took me ages to work it out but since i turned this off i haven’t had one 1st class come up on my account,
I hope this helps

Hi
Am in the same boat. Amazon shipping is more than franking, also they want me to FBA and charge £25 per month on top of fees, I have had my listings suppressed and can’t seem to be able to get it lifted.
Looks like i won’t be selling on Amazon any more
