Does anyone know why Amazon requires the shipping rates to be the same throughout the contiguous United States when shipping costs vary by region? We ship from Florida, so shipping costs to the Southeast are considerably lower than shipping to the West Coast, but we cannot set up shipping profiles by region. I'm just curious about why this isn't allowed when the shipping costs settings clearly are designed to allow for it (by listing out the separate regions rather than just "Contiguous United States").
We received an email from Amazon stating that our shipping costs were excessive on one of our items, even though they barely cover shipping to the West Coast. I'm trying to determine how much I need to lower the shipping cost to meet their "Fair Pricing Policy" and would like to set up pricing by region, but am unable to. Shipping prices for this item vary from $30 in Florida to $45 in California/Washington, so should I aim at shipping costs closer to $30 or $45 to meet their policy? I'm not interested in adding the shipping costs to the item's price and offering free shipping. Any insight from sellers in a similar situation would be helpful.
