Valid Tracking Rate - but I dont send the orders, suppliers do

Ive been selling on Amazon for 7 years. All of a sudden my selling rights on some but not all of my products have been removed because my VTR is low.

The reason for this is that my wholesalers send all my orders out from their warehouses using Edi from my system to theirs. This way I dont need to invest in stock and have 25000 products available to me. This is how the stationery industry works. There are far too many SKU’s for a reseller to hold locally.

Now I have been stopped selling all my best selling products by Amazon. I have tried to explain I dont get the carrier tracking data until the following day and upload it then but it falls on deaf ears.

Do I just pack up and stop using Amazon - it cant be that easy for them to make me go bust!

What does your VTR report say?

How do you currently mark an item as shipped or does the wholesaler do that for you?

What about increasing your handling time by 1 day and marking as dispatched when you actually receive the tracking number.

Also Amazon aren’t really keen on dropshipping, so they won’t make allowances for you to do this.

If these are your best selling products wouldn’t it be better to stock them yourself?

Amazon isn’t really the best place to dropship with their ever increasingly tight metrics, so it would make sense to have more control over your best sellers and keep your metrics up.

Obviously I don’t know what your best sellers are and it may not be practical for some products but that’s what I would be looking at. Maybe even do FBA if you don’t want to ship them yourself and it’s cost effective to do so.

Ive noticed this on the VTR page: 1. Domestic Orders delivered through a carrier which is not integrated with Amazon

Most of mine are through TruLine and MDL but they have ignored that fact.

It strikes me that Amazon do not understand how some of their reseller businesses work, especially those who do not hold stock and rely on wholesalers to send the orders.

We all know they dont care less but they aught to.

I think the first thing you need to do if you haven’t already, is download the VTR report and have a look at it.

You may possibly also be able to find out the tiny percentage (the 0.76%) of your orders which are being classed valid - but only if any of them have arrived late - because they will show as a late defect on the OTDR defect report - and should only be on there if they have a valid tracking ID.

So if you have the VTR invalid defect report, and any on your OTDR late report, see if there is any difference in the Carrier Name and Delivery Method for starters.

If you don’t have any which have been classed as ‘valid’ that are late, that’d be unfortunate ironically,

I have a screen shot of my report but there is no way to upload it so here is the data… The sales order numbers dont seem to add up. This is 30 days and there should be about 700 orders

retrospective tracking numbers are irrelevant, tracking has to be added at the point of dispatch to be valid

Wasn’t there one of the amazon mailings saying if you used a tracked courier that wasn’t on the drop downs you were to tell them and get it added?
