VAT/GST registration number problem - do not have them!
Hi, I have a small LTD business in the UK (I am selling only on Amazon). I do not have VAT nor GST registration number! Amazon ask me for these numbers to issue invoices to the customers. My business is not VAT registered. So, can you please let me know what should I do? Thanks!

If you are not Vat registered then it would be illegal to produce a Vat invoice.
Have you signed up to the Amazon Vat calculation service to produce your invoices? If so that’s why Amazon need your Vat number. Cancel your enrolment.

It is possible that being a foreign national Amazon have considered you to be a NETP. Did you use any address details outside of the UK when registering your business?
If this is the case you may need to obtain confirmation from HMRC that you are not required to be VAT registered.

Where are you being asked for the numbers?
If you aren’t VAT registered, you will need to generate receipts using online software or find a different way how to do so.

Ive had an email from Amazon asking to enrol and enter VAT numbers - its not mandatory but reads like you have to enter these details - I think because I clicked on it as it was about enrolling for business invoices it seems to trigger off “reminders” asking for the VAT details - is it this?
