Every now and then I get several FBA orders held up with the “Awaiting Payment Verification” message. I assume Amazon is sending emails or texts to their customer asking them to verify the order. It holds up my inventory, sometimes for very long periods of time. Right now I have orders in this status that are over 2 weeks old. Does anyone know how long an order can tie up your inventory in this status before they finally release the product back to inventory?

Per Amazon: "On the Manage orders page, an order with a status of Pending might indicate an issue with the buyer's payment method or a convenience store payment method. In some cases, our payment and order detail verification processes can potentially extend order processing times for as long as 21 days."
This seems to be generally true, however we have had some pending beyond the 21 days. This is Amazon, remember. They seem to have some issues with time.
Same here. I've had 30-40 orders stuck in this status for 3+ weeks. Has me thinking its competitors trying to jam up inventory. Ive analyzed the sales location/region data and haven't found any trends between the held up sales & ultimate cancellations.
Just make sure to set your max order limit on the listing as 1 or 2, so they cant immediately see your stock & order your entire inventory in a single order to cancel 3-4 weeks later.
