My product is not Selling. New seller

Hi

New seller here on amazon. I looked on the internet for a good product and thought i would have a go selling it on amazon. I get my inventory from China and sell on amazon.

I use FBA. BUT, my product is not selling. Anyone care to take a look at the product page and give me some suggestions as to what I should do? Does the product have any sales potential in your opinion?

Here is my product listing on amazon:

Product has been on since 12th Sep 2020 and has had:

127 page views
25 sessions
0 orders

I haven’t done any advertising as the product is already on page 1.

All comments welcome and thanks for any constructive input.

Joe

Your main image is against amazon’s rules and should be your product only. The title is also against policy.
I’m on mobile at the moment but yours doesn’t show in the first few pages when I search.
I’d also suggest making sure you’ve got your margins correct and have accounted for all the fees.

Having searched for Airpods case - lots of similar items appear - and I lost interest before finding yours. Interestingly lots of them had ‘Airpods’ in the title and showed Airpods in the image - whilst I believe that Demel is right in saying that neither of these things are allowed it shows that Amazon are not too good at policing their own rules.

Your first problem is, it’s next to impossible to sell items from China, when buyers can get products manufactured in their own country and can trust the quality (I’m not commenting on your item specifically). Second, as a new seller, you need to be patient. Things will sell, or not. If you run to the forum (nothing wrong with that) this soon, you’ll cause yourself a lot of stress. The layout, wording etc, is less important than building up a history of sales and possibly getting repeat customers.

As to the wording, I would have gone with the item name first. Something like Earbud Case - Compatible With Various Earphones - ‘condition’. Keep it simple and direct. Hope this helps.

With Amazon fees included, I am not sure if you make much money at all. Though I would advise advertising and search terms changing. Nothing else will make it sell, there are soooo many of similar product, it would be hear to sell.
Use amaze scout to see what are the top seller of similar items make

As well, if you search “AirPods case” (as a buyer would do) exactly the same item as yours (same pictures) are second on the list, amazon’s choice and has 18 000 reviews.

I am sorry, but not really sure you have a chance here. There is one technique, where seller drop price really low (sometimes sell on the loss) but at least attract some people and traffic, get some reviews as well. It can be taken as product rank manipulation if done incorrectly, though not sure that would even work in this case.

Also another question, If you search for a product and it shows you the search results like over 1000 or less, does that mean its less competitive?

Having sold these before (not on Amazon) they are a hard sell as many of the Apple fans will want genuine or approved product and typically those buying the TWS i5 or i7 headphones either buy them with the case or don’t want to spend any more money or see the point.

I know Alibaba has been ruled out but was it via Aliexpress or DHGate if so you may well run into the same problems as with Alibaba Invoices.

You do realise that at £3.19, £2.15 of that goes to Amazon in fees before you’ve paid storage fees as well, is it really worth it? Perhaps you would be better cutting your losses on these and removing them to sell elsewhere?

As others before me have mentioned you really need to cut your losses with this product as I have done a quick search with Jungle scout and the top 10 ranked similar products each have over 10k+ reviews but only selling on average 2-4 a day. So if the 10k+ reviews sellers are struggling with sales then I’m afraid you have very little chance to get any sales.

Regarding a new products the best advice I can give you is do some serious research - Amazon can completely change your life around if you put your time and effort into it.

Also regarding products to source next - try not to source products that will price for less than £5 as this will give you little to no room to play with in regards to FBA.

Also dont go for expensive items as a new seller as it wont be an impulse buy from customers then who will think twice about their purchase and most likely will buy the same product from someone who has reviews rather than spend big on new sellers with no reviews.
