Amazon very, very slow to pick up Nielsen BookData cover images

Is anyone else having a problem with Amazon displaying their books’ cover images? It used to take a couple of weeks from supplying the info to Nielsen for all the information about a book to go up onto Amazon, including the cover image. Now the book info goes up just as fast, but the cover image lags behind by about a month and a half. This means I can’t try and sell the book for two months after supplying bookdata info (as no one is going to buy a book without seeing the cover). Nielsen used to be helpful and restream the details which would normally result in Amazon picking it up, but they are getting as tired of this as me. The cover goes up onto Bokus, Foyles, Waterstones, etc fine, but I don’t sell through those stores. Obviously I can’t get hold of anyone sensible at Amazon to talk to.

Any suggestions, anyone else with the same problems?

Hi,

Thanks for your post.

I don’t have details about how often Amazon retrieves product information from Nielsen.
However, when you add a listing to your inventory it is possible for you to add the product image yourself through your seller account. This will display on the website if there is no image already present.

Thanks,
Jessica

Totally sympathise guys - There seems to be a general apathy where books are concerned. I fear we are way down on the list as far as Amazon are concerned too. :slightly_frowning_face:
