Countries
Read onlyWe have been getting notification from Amazon that we need to update 'Country of Origin' information for our listings, or selling will be restricted.
However, I am totally unable to find out how to process this information in bulk. We have thousands of listings, so it is not at all feasible to check each listing one-by-one, but Amazon does not give a list of affected products.
Even the steps that they outline to work through this do not work, as they are full of outdated information, and broken links, telling us to use systems that are no longer available.
Does anyone know if there is a way to just download a Full Inventory spreadsheet, with the Country of Origin information, that we can then just bulk edit and upload? Or at least find a list of affected products?
can one of the admin investigate this issue,
@Julia_Amazon @Winston_Amazon @Ezra_Amazon @Sarah_Amzn
we have over 7000 sku,
I am guessing 3000 - 4000 will need a COO adding on, as the listings were created before it was a requirement (or even offered as a input box)
Yes, we had exactly the same message and when you click on the links in the message, the page doesn't exist.
I have tried to add this to a few listings, however we are not the brand owner or the person who created the listing, so amazon needs to accept my suggestions otherwise we are non compliant and will have our seller account limited for a fault thats not ours.
If amazon don't accept our inputs, what action do we have when they limit our ability to sell?
They need to be pointing this warning to the brand owners, not the people selling the product...
This is going to be a major issue as we have thousands of listings and 80% of the items we sell we cannot make this change so what happens if the brand owner doesn't update the listing?
I sell books and have recently posted about this issue "List Price with Tax and Country of Origin (books)" sorry I dont know how to create a link to this post.
I assume you sell DVDs and I think this may have the same problem as books. Since doing this post the "country of origin" button seems to have completely disappeared when doing new listings. When editing older listings it also seems to have disappeared.
There is one option, unfortunately not always useful
Go to "Upload Products & Inventory"
Get product template from "Update product details"
in the template you need to provide: Feed Product Type, copy SKU list from other spreadsheet if you have (for example if using FBA you can get if from FBA inventory spreadsheet), mark as Partial/Update, add Country of origin
Hi, just went through this, we had around 500 SKUs to update, basically you need to raise a case get access to the Category Listings Report which is a excel file you can then use to bulk update the SKUs.
See below from my case with Amazon

Hi
I also have to do this. Please try the following flat file. It works for me. Please post back and let me know if this is good for you. It doesn't look like I can upload the actual txt file, so I've taken a screenshot.

Good evening
I would like to ask if you link a sku to other markets, should we change it to the others markets as well?
does it automatically pass the data to the others markets as well?
I had a notification on my store front this morning about this.
A big yellow banner came up saying my seller privileges had been restricted and to click to reactivate. When I clicked to reactive I had to declare that I would upload all my COO's before the 31st December to reactivate.
I am not convinced my selling privileges were actually restricted though.
Is this what everyone else sees when they get a notification about this? It seems a bit over the top.
I am all for Amazon notifying us of things that need to be done through seller central but don't send us into a panic by saying you restricted our account!
I asked the same question of Amazon directly, this is what they said. Hope it helps.
"To review the list of your SKUs that are missing COO, download the Category Listing Report (CLR). You can download the CLR by following the steps below:
1. Go to Reports and select Inventory Reports from the menu bar in Seller Central.
2. Select Category Listing Report under the available options.
3. Ensure to set Select Status Filter as All to include all products.
4. Click on Request Report to download a report.
Note: It may take up to 45 minutes for this report to be generated. Under normal circumstances, creating a report takes less than a minute.
5. COO information can be found in different columns depending on the report type and categories. You can search with the keyword "Country or Origin".
Important: If the report is not available by following the above steps, contact Selling Partner Support.
To update the COO for all your products in bulk, follow the following steps:
1. Visit the Add Products via Upload page.
2. Click “Get Product Template” under “Update product details”.
3. Open the template you have just generated and populate four columns:
- Column A feed_product_type: provide the product type of the ASIN for which you would like to update COO
- Column B item_sku: provide the SKU for which you would like to update COO
- update_delete column (column position will vary depending on product type): select PartialUpdate (this setting ensures that the values in your catalogue remain unchanged for attributes you are not populating in your template)
- country_of_origin column (column position will vary depending on product type): provide the COO for your product
4. Save a copy of the file
5. Visit the Upload Your Inventory File page.
6. Browse to find your file or drag and drop it, then click upload.
