Today's SFP trial woes

In the continuing saga of trying to get through the SFP trial I have a couple more problems:

  1. we live in a rural area that is currently in a blizzard, the roads are pretty much impassable and I doubt RM will be collecting today. There is a PO a few miles away but I doubt I’ll make it. I have 3 Prime orders that have to go - I am guessing that there is no solution?

  2. I can’t get DPD added to shipping options to do the trial label. I have spoke to DPD and it’s set up at their end, I have made DPD my preferred service (2 days ago,) but it still doesn’t show up as a shipping option. I have raised a case but haven’t heard anything.

Thanks in advance.

I’d assume not however, (I know it’s perhaps easier said than done…)you need to be thinking ahead with these events. I don’t know where you are but there are weather warnings and I suspect if you’ve lived in your area for at least a year you’d know the typical snow fall & the forecast for my area has been spot on. & it was well forecasted ahead of time.

Have you rung the DO to see if you’ve a collection?

Yes - it is not recommended turning Prime on and off (although there are a few people who do) but there is a big note about not doing so on that screen. Also, as you are in Trial, it may mess up your results.

Holiday mode is a possibility - but it will remove all your offers not just the SFP ones

Personally I would upload a flat file changing the shipping template from SFP to your standard one and you could also set handling time to be 2+ days at same time. Then when weather is better, do it again changing everything back,

Yes - to confirm what TLS said - if the item is on the SFP shipping template then you have to post same day on next day service for Prime orders. You cannot override the handling time on a file upload as it will have no effect. Which is why I said change the shipping template for now from Prime to your standard one.

Whilst on SFP Trial then from help:

  • You must ship at least 25 shipments with 99% on-time shipping rate, or have 5 separate collections with a Prime approved carrier (whichever comes first).

So if you have already done 25 Prime orders or had 5 separate collections already (or will be able to before trial is completed) then you are safe to change to from the Prime to a standard shipping template without affecting your trial whilst we are having this bad weather and you cannot be certain your collections will happen.

Amazon have added 2 new carriers that can be used for SFP. The email announcing it conforms that the metrics for SFP is ONLY for domestic orders

Note that you are required to maintain a 95% valid tracking rate on your domestic shipments through Amazon.co.uk over a rolling 30-day period. That is, if you dispatch from an address in the UK to a delivery address in the UK.

I am staggered that anyone manages to achieve SFP with the hoops I’ve had to jump through. After it became evident that RM can’t provide a good enough service to maintain the delivery promise I started along the DPD route and here we are months later and I still don’t have DPD as a delivery option on my orders so I haven’t even got to the stage of doing the test label. DPD are saying it’s all set up at their end and Amazon are asking me to provide my DPD registration number but DPD say they don’t use registration numbers, so I am currently stuck in the middle.
My biggest gripe however is that I’m not covered against late deliveries when using one of the recommended services i.e. RM 24 tracked, because it is completely out of my control. Amazon should either remove RM as an option or protect the seller against late deliveries.

in regards to getting DPD buy shipping active, we had to email the MD direct to raise this issue and it finnaly got sorted. SS were less than useless

Were just about to get our SFP going, but i would not trust DPD or Royal mail with them, i only activated them as a back up. Too many failed collections and royal mail not scanning parcels [T24] for a couple days. So it wont be worth it.

We actually now have amazon shipping so that will be our no 1 option and then amazon have full control on the orders

So in the continuing saga of trying to get DPD added to Buy Shipping my latest response from SS is to tell me that they are waiting for the test label results before adding DPD. In the test label procedure it advises to print the test label via buy shipping (which I can’t because the DPD option isn’t there.)
This is insane.
I emailed the MD but no response as yet.
