I am being scammed by the buyer or Amazon itself, please help!

Hello all, I need your help.

I was selling two graphic cards, here’s the link https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ZPOAYG6?ref=myi_title_dp. They spent months in Amazon’s warehouse because of low demand. They got finally sold one after the other in the same week. Strangely, both of them were returned right after and tagged by Amazon as “defective” and a refund issued to both cases.

It was extremely weird for me to hear this because it was new items, sealed. I have had six of this and never had an issue. Anyway, I created a removal order to see what was going on.

I was horribly surprised to see what I got in return! I received a graphic card: with years of use, without its packing or accessories, bent in several places, with burn marks, and so on.

So, I raise this issue with Amazon, telling them (I don’t know if I’m being naive here, I’ll elaborate on this further on) the customer have replaced the new graphic card by an old, damaged one. Amazon replies with what looks like a premade message saying the card they sent me matches the page details (no link) and they are closing the case.

I have continued to reopen the case several times, trying to make them understand the item I received has years of use and that mine was new, but they ignore any claims, facts or pictures and say that’s the item and close the case again.

Now, after several messages, I’m starting to think it wasn’t the customer but Amazon itself who sent me a different card, with all this of the comingled stock policies and such. I told Amazon I want to raise a scam report with the police and that I need to know what client was the one who sent that card back to me, but they are not giving me that information either. Doesn’t this make them accomplices of a scam?

I don’t know what to do, I don’t have the money to hire a lawyer to prosecute this and I’m not a big seller attractive to the lawyer companies that take this kind of cases in commission basis.

I’m extremely surprised of the zero support I have received from Amazon as a seller, and never in my life I expected that I was going to have to deal with cases like this by using Amazon. I was paying all these fees because I thought Amazon was a safe place to sell some goods.

What can I do? How do I get my new graphic card back or the money that it costs? What they sent me back only work as an ugly paperweight at most.

In case somehow this helps, here’s the case ID 6513787862.

I’m afraid there’s nothing you can do in this case. Sending your goods to FBA means you signed up to their rules and gives them the right to decide on refunds. It’s annoying but best to just move on

Sorry to hear this! Sadly I’m reading too many stories of dishonest Amazon buyers but in this case, I’m thinking Amazon staff may have been involved after seeing unsold Gaming stock sitting around and perhaps got a buyer and someone in refund department to issue the refund and block any dispute from yourself.

I sold a 1984 George Orwell book last year , then had a customer claim a refund saying book sent was damaged, photo sent to me was a 10 year old different edition paperback with a cigarette burn on it .not remotely the book I sent out .amazon gave buyer a refund despite photos showing different isin, different copy .its sadly the levels people go to ,

There’s a Seller Poll box asking for our opinion on Amazon handling of negative feedback from buyers, I wonder why they are not bold enough to put one there for our opinion on their response to claims/returns from customers.:sneezing_face::face_vomiting:

Unfortunately for sellers, in my experience, Amazon doesn’t check items when they come into the FC for damage, they don’t check before they send and they do not check when an item is returned as damaged, they take the word of the customer. I find dishonest customers will send items back as damaged even when they aren’t because they don’t pay to send them back then. Amazon FCs do not check this they just take it as damaged so the seller has to pay for removal of an item there’s nothing wrong with.
I don’t trust them anymore and I’ve removed all my FBA items. I recently had a case where they sent the same customer 3 items of the same stock after she sent them back saying they were damaged 3 times. I did a removal order for ALL stock of that item and when the items came back to me in perfect condition and I know for a fact that the packaging hadn’t even been opened to see if the items inside were damaged at all. I have tried to get an answer out of them about what the hell happened and what blacks marks I have had as a result of this but they just send me the same copy and pasted answer everytime.
I have had them lose £100s of stock and never got an answer or reimbursement.
If you want to sell with them you have to learn to put up with the appalling way they treat sellers I’m afraid.

I hear so many cases the same from stories I hear. They have items, break them, or they stop working or whatever. They go onto Amazon buy a new one and then send back the old one claiming it is faulty. They get a full refund and the new item replacing old. Amazon don’t care at all, and in fact I am starting to see the same thing now with the other site. It is fast becoming a scammers paradise out there.

Same for me here as well, in my case they purchase the item and claim it was used. Amazon ruled in their favour and Amazon punished as well for allegedly selling used item as NEW. Despite providing pictures of the item being shrink-wrapped. I have policy violation which I can’t get red of at the moment.
