HELP! New handmade seller! Titles, descriptions, search terms

Hi everyone!

I’m Amy and I’ve just joined Amazon handmade - my store is JewelleryByAMMA.

I’m totally new to this and feeling overwhelmed to be honest. I have recently opened an etsy store JewelleryByAMMA, its very early stages and im still trying to get to grips with it!

Ive created one listing on Handmade, basically using the title and description from etsy but I have no idea if what I have done is completely wrong for Amazon Handmade in 2019. I’m finding it difficult to find info about titles, descriptions, search terms for handmade.

Would anyone be able to check out my listing and give me some advice to see if ive done it correctly, instead of doing loads completely wrong! Would be so grateful if you could.

the link to the listing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07YGWJGV6?ref=myi_title_dp

Also, I’m not sure why its saying currently unavailable where the price should be, any ideas?

Thank you so much for your time - it is much appreciated.

Amy x

I had a quick look, first impressions are that you need to sort out the description. One full block of text interspersed with tiny little hearts and hyphens is not at all easy to read. Change it to pertinent bullet points instead would make it look a lot better.

There are no options in the Select Options drop-down box - have you entered any? If not maybe that’s why it’s show as unavailable, unless you have put 0 in the stock quantity field?

The main image should only show the item that is being sold, no other props - buyers might think you are selling the top with the necklace. So the images with the blouse should be additional images, and an image just showing the necklace should be the main image.

The product name/title is " Sterling silver star necklace" - all the other bits are keywords and should go in the keyword field not the product name.

In the UK the word is “Jewellery” not “jewelry”.

If you search in seller help for the geting started guide for new sellers, it will give you the guidelines and rules for listing products

Good luck!

Hello!

I am not a specialist in handmade but following general requirements of Amazon, I would put the main picture (at least) on white underground, not whitish, you may need to use an application or the service of an online company to do that.

Also your price has the value 0 at the moment, you need to fill in a real price (be careful with the coma and the dot, you should use the dot in the UK ex: 8.95)

All the best!

As someone who sells mainly jewelry, I would advise you to make better pictures of the small necklace as it is too tiny in the current photos.

Especially the main image should stand out and make any potential customers click on your listing.

Regarding the title and bullet points, they are filled with keywords which is of no help to buyers.

Well-written bullet points will naturally contain keywords, but the first priority should be to communicate clearly and help customers make a buying decision.

When you add search terms, how are you supposed to write them in? do you just separate with a comma and space? I see there is the option to add more boxes under search terms, what is this for if you can just put them all in one box?

I used
to get a line break and it seems to have worked, I use - for bullet points now.

Okay thank you.

Do you know whether it is a good idea to use the same search terms and style keywords in different listings? I know in etsy its important to vary tags so you dont compete with yourself but I haven’t read anything about this in the handmade guide.
