Second seller account or second brand to same account?

Hello! Our manufacturing company has several registered brands on Amazon. I've recently started another business, a separate EIN and bank account manufacturing products that are in a completely different industry than my first company. My first company is in the self-defense market and the second company is in automotive accessories. It doesn't make sense for the auto accessories to be sold under the name of a self-defense supply company.

My question is, do I petition Amazon to allow me to start a second account? Or should I simply add the new brand to my current account? Here's another issue, due to ITAR restrictions, the first company can sell products only in the USA Marketplace. However, the second company can sell on all of Amazon's global marketplaces.

As long as the second company's name is visible to the consumer in our auto accessory listings and not the first company, I'm fine with any set-up, although accounting may be a problem trying to separate the orders and bookkeeping between companies. The names of the 2 companies are highly important in building the brands because it doesn't make sense for an auto-related product line to be sold from a company name that is obviously from another industry.

What's odd is that when you ask for Amazon's help the agents seem to believe that in no way is a second seller account even possible, yet Amazon says that it can happen if you show a reasonable justification for one. Worse, much of their wording is: We won't make a judgement if you can or can't open a second account, but if you do there's a chance we can cancel both of your accounts. Which is a little disconcerting.

Thanks in advance.
