FBA Small and Light packaging
Hello all,
Apologies in advance if this is a silly question.
We’ve recently started with FBA Small and Light. An existing seller friend told us that even if we are only shipping one SKU in a box, the items have to be packed in a separate box. So, a box within a box. We’ve been buying 14" cube boxes and packing the items in a 13" cube box (the 13" box has the item barcode labels and item description stuck to two sides of it).
He told us that we cannot apply UPS/courier labels to the actual box that has the items in it as it could conflict with the SKU barcodes at the FC. Most of the SKU’s are loose in the inner box and are not individually labelled as they are too small.
Does anyone know if that’s right please? It’s just that it means more than twice the packaging and work.
Many thanks.

Seems like overkill that.Change to Amazon barcode(FNSKU) not EAN.Items(all same) in clear plastic bag FNSKU Label on bag with number of items written on,plastic bag in shipping box.

Not applying a UPS/courier label to the box, they are in is wrong I’m afraid.
As long as the items are packed sensibly, then there is no reason why you can’t use said box.
As Russ said, you can put them all within a plastic bag, inside the box with an FNSKU label on the bag.
That will work fine. Personally, I prefer to label all the items individually, as it seems to reduce problems at the FC, but it’s not required. You can simply get around items being too small to label, by packing in individual bags.

Just confirming the above. We send a fair bit to small & light and it’s usually cases of single SKUs. Ours are all individually labelled.
On one occasion we were “told off” for not labelling the outside correctly (it was!), that’s out of thousands of boxes sent in.
Boxes inside boxes looks like overkill and may actually slow things down.
