Rant - Why can't customer support check orders?

Just had a buyer contact customer support who have then emailed us stating -

Reason for contact: Missing Item
Details: The package has arrived, but parts were missing. Please research the issue and contact the customer. The cx said that she were supposed to get 2 items and shge only got one. Please help

Yet the order details clearly showed she only ordered ONE item from us.

I understand the customer may have been confused and thought she purchased more items from us and actually bought them from another seller but why can’t customer support just take a look at her order and tell her she only ordered 1 rather than messaging us!!

I’ve replied with a screenshot of her order with us and asked her to look at her order history to see who sold her the other item but its a waste of my time and i’ve a feeling i’ll probably get either a neg or an a-z

I am a little puzzled why did the customer contact Amazon customer service when all they needed to do is to go to the order history select the order and click problem with this order. The order history will show what item has been ordered and the quantity, together with the order number. Contacting customer services they will ask the buyer for the last 4 digits of the order number and also confirm type of item ordered with the customer together with the quantity, only then Amazon customer service will contact the seller. So with all the information confirmed I am puzzled when ordered 1 item the customer was expecting more?

i don;t think anyone gets to see those, its a simple auto bot relaid message.

i had one the other day saying the item has not arrived/wheres my item one.
the message body stated they rec’d the item but it was damaged???
if someone from CS read that, they obviously cannot read. bot bot bot.

I emailed the customer kindly explaining that they actually only ordered 1 pack of napkins from us

They responded in capitals saying that they ordered and paid for 2 but only received 1 !

I sent a screenshot of their order showing only 1 pack of napkins ordered

They emailed me back a screenshot showing their order of 2 packs of TISSUE PAPER from another seller with several explanation marks

I’ve kindly (through gritted teeth) explained that we don’t sell tissue paper and that they needed to contact the seller shown on the order

I’ve a feeling this isn’t over :weary:
