International listing with FBA fullfiled from Germany
Hi All,
I need your advise on FBA settings, when goods are not fullfilled from the UK warehouse.
I’m a new seller with business registered in Luxembourg. Due to my language preference (English) Amazon has pushed me to register on Amazon with the home marketplace UK. I want to sell across EU using FBA and store goods in one of the warehouses in Germany. I have went through the marathon of getting German VAT number, I’ve created a listing in BIL and now Im ready for a first shipment to the fulfillment center.
When I go to FBA settings (Settings>Fullfilment by Amazon) in the Crossboarder Fullfiment section I want to select that I want my goods to be stored in Germany only (and not UK).
However system does not allow me to do so; in the sub - section “Allow inventory to be stored in other countries” UK is marked as default and I cannot remove it. What is more it is pushing me to “ackowledge storing inventory in the United Kingdom generates the requirement to upload my UK VAT number to Seller Central”. Obviously - I do not want to agree to that.
How do you deal with such situation? I dont want to create VAT obligation in UK, even more I dont want UK account to be blocked because of that.
If you had a similar experience - please share your settings details
Thanks
Jolanta

You’ve chosen UK for your default market place so that’s where your main stock will be held. If you wanted all your stock to be only held in Germany then you should have chosen that as your default market place.
I can’t see a way to chose Uk as default but have stock in only Germany - doesn’t make sense.

Lets try a few things:
- is your listing only on DE market place?
- is Global selling off?
- if you select DE, can you create a shipment plan?
