Amazon refunded buyer for they no longer wanted the item. Don't they have to return it?

I am a new seller on Amazon and my very first order I shipped out a $300 margarita machine. After 3 weeks of the customer having the item, they said it did not meet their expectations.. So amazon refunded them. Please tell me that they do indeed still have to return the item. There was nothing wrong with the machine and it arrived on time. How long do they have to return the item and what if they do not?

Amazon will send them a prepaid return label. Once that label is scanned then they will issue the refund. Go to your returns page and find that customers return request. You should see a tracking number (that is the pre paid return label) click the tracking number and see if it has movement. If they never use it and do not return then Amazon should not refund.

In case I am mistaken and you never get the item back and they have been refunded in full you can file a SAFE-T claim and get reimbursed IF you used Amazon shipping.

Hope this helps

Hello, @Seller_aP9xI8H9WQ1pS,

Thank you for your patience. This is Sunnie, from Amazon.

The return request for your order ending in -5686623 was Auto-authorized. You can review this requesting by going to Orders > Manage Returns in Seller Central. However, I cannot confirm this is the order you're referring to, as there is another return in your Manage Safe-T Claims page, for an order ending in -1741043.

So I can provide more accurate information, please confirm the Order ID you have questions about, as well as the Case ID where you reached out to Support.

Regards,

Sunnie
