VAT number rejected
Hi All
After getting excited last week having successfully submitted my VAT number, today i got an e-mail saying its been rejected, as follows
Dear Seller,
It has come to our attention that there is a problem with your VAT registration number ******* and, as a result, your VAT registration number has been rejected.
Your VAT registration number was rejected for one of the following reasons:
- The UK VAT Number Validation System has concluded that your VAT registration number is invalid
- The ‘legal name’ on your Seller Central account does not match the information stated in UK VAT Number Validation System
If this VAT registration number is valid and does belong to your business, please see below:
- United Kingdom VAT registration numbers - you should have received a separate email detailing the reason behind the rejection including next steps. Please contact vat-number-appeals@amazon.com for additional assistance. Please provide your UK VAT registration certificate and your Amazon Seller Name.
- VAT registration numbers, except the United Kingdom - please [contact Seller Support.](https://sellercentral
So the VAT number is Valid Shows on Gov website and i have the certificate, and the Legal name matches exactly.
Ive e-mailed the appeals team and set them a PDF/scan of the certificate.
Any ideas, gonna be pulling my hair out till this one is sorted Aghhh

Hi
I have question regarding VAT as well if any one can explain, as we not vat registered yet but will be soon.
My question is as we are brand registered as well and I checked on amazon the legal business name is our brand name and primary contact detail is my full name and on UTR letter its my full name so should I will apply VAT on my own full name or brand name so amazon not create problem ?
Thanks

My Account name was my initials and surname, my VAT registration was in my full first middle and surname. Once i sent in the Vat Cert it was validated within 24 hours. Im guessing a bit of common sense prevailed fortunately. I think bots reject the first unless it matches exactly.
its a bit of a process to go through, you have to cancel your vat exemption before you can add a vat number and whilst you go through the process aoutomated invoicing will be turned off so you have to do them manually within 24 hours, so makesure you know how to do this
