Customer returned fake product back to seller in Easyship

Customer returned a duplicate fake product which is not even a look alike of my original product that i sent via EasyShip. I raised Safe T Claim ., but it got denied, Amazon says that i received the product in a tamper proof package and that it is not opened by the delivery guy. The Problem is the product was replaced by the buyer himself and intentionally a duplicate fake product was returned to me. What should i do ?

I completely understand your frustration, and you're not alone in facing these kinds of issues. From my experience, a significant portion of these problems, around 97%, stem from internal mishandling by ATS and hub managers, rather than customers. Unfortunately, product theft during transit benefits Amazon indirectly, which might explain why they don't take stronger measures to address it.

I've conducted a detailed analysis of my sales, and the reality is that we, as sellers, are losing both time and money while trying to navigate Amazon’s complex system. The deductions and hidden costs are staggering, and it feels like we're being used for their gain. Here’s a breakdown of what we face as sellers:

Amazon Deductions (from Selling Price):

********************************************

Commission: 19.00%

IGST on Commission: 3.42%

Fixed Closing Fee: 5.15%

IGST on Fixed Closing Fee: 0.93%

Amazon Easy Ship Fees:

Weight Handling Fees: 5.58%

IGST on Weight Handling Fees: 0.88%

Total Amazon Deductions (Standard Sales): 37.64%

Additional Deductions:

Return Charges: 5%

SCRR Rate Fine: 15%

Ads Expenses: 24%

GST on Ads: 4.32%

FBA Theft by ATS & Hub Managers: 20%

Now the Total Deductions in Different Scenarios:

********************************************************

Sale Without Return:

************************

Amazon Deductions: 37.64%

Ads Deductions: 28.32% (including GST)

Tax Deductions: 1.43%

Total: 67.39% of the selling price goes in deductions.

Sale With Return (Without SCRR Fine):

*******************************************

Return Charges (5%) make it 72.39% of the selling price.

Sale With Return and SCRR Fine:

*************************************

Return Charges (5%) + SCRR Fine (15%) result in total deductions of 87.39% of the selling price.

Sale With ATS & FBA Theft:

*********************************

Adding FBA Theft (20%) to the deductions from a sale with return and SCRR fines results in total deductions of 107.39% of the selling price.

Now, factor in your product cost and other business expenses, and you realize we’re often left with nothing. It’s a tough reality, but understanding these hidden costs helps us make informed decisions.

You’re not alone—Amazon’s systems are designed to be difficult to navigate, but awareness is the first step. If possible, I recommend reviewing your transactions carefully and raising concerns with Amazon with as much documented evidence as you can. BUT believe me Amazon considering Indian sellers as 3rd class slaves in their system- Their policies for India are far different from USA,EU etc.
