Fraud return orders, getting trash back and less than 20% in Safe-T claims!!

Hi fellow sellers,

Is anyone else facing a rising number of fraudulent return orders lately?

We’ve had multiple cases where customers return completely different or damaged products—sometimes even random trash—and still manage to get full refunds. The worst part? When we file SAFE-T claims, we’re barely getting 10–20% reimbursement, if anything at all.

We put time, money, and effort into quality packaging and service, but these loopholes are draining small businesses like ours. Amazon often seems to side with the customer even in clear cases of fraud.

Anyone found a way to fight this more effectively?

Tips on strengthening claims, filing evidence, or contacting Amazon teams that actually resolve the issue?

Appreciate any help!

Thanks,

Kind Strings

Yes, we're facing the same issue — and it's getting worse.

In many cases, it’s not just fraudulent customers but also Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) insiders who are suspected of placing fake orders just to steal products. We’ve noticed return shipments never making it back from local hubs for months, yet Amazon continues to deduct full charges, including shipping, fees, and even commissions.

We’ve raised multiple SAFE-T claims, provided video proof, timestamps, and everything, but the reimbursements are minimal or completely denied. It’s disheartening.

This system clearly rigged against sellers.

Honest businesses are being drained while Amazon insiders or abusers benefit from loopholes. Unless there’s accountability and fair resolution, many of us may have no option but to pause ads, scale back, or shut down entirely.

Hi,

We are facing same problem. That's why we are not more active on amazon. We don't participate in campaign and less sell products here. We are not getting profit here.

we experiance even worst as buyer place order cod or prepaid, item is shipped, buyer cancel it...we receive diffrent item in different package...how it is possible? That's we guess Amazon's in house cons..staff involved. We reported many times but no one gives ears. Pity

Hello @Seller_ANfuWGzoC4q6R,

This is Sakura from Amazon. Welcome to the Seller Forums.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with fraudulent returns and your dissatisfaction with the reimbursement amounts. I understand how frustrating this can be for small businesses.

According to the Safe-T claim policy, reimbursement amounts can vary depending on the situation and type of item. You can review the specific rates in our Reimbursement rates for Safe-T claims help page.

If you believe the rate you received doesn't match the rates presented in the help page for your product type, please share the order ID and I'll be happy to review it.

Thank you,

Sakura
