Preparing Your Products - Stackable Boxes and how to send?
Hi, can anyone advise on how to send in stackable boxes for FBA and also advice on packaging for onwards shipment by Amazon. They will be case packed by size and colour as loose items/no wrapping. (individual items per case/not mixed).
The reason I ask, is that these boxes stack into their packing case and so volumetrically take up much less space than they would do if they are loose. Plus they will be much more difficult to stack if they are each individually wrapped/inserted into a polly bag. (I thought we were trying to reduce plastic generation in this day and age anyway!!).
Has anyone been through this yet… we are brand new to FBA!
Thanks for any help
Regards
Dan

Amazon determined space used as the product dimensions multiplied by the number of products. E.g. if you sell a stackable product like buckets Amazon will charge you far more for storage than the product will actually be using.
You might not need to individually wrap them, but they’re likely to collect dirt and slight scrapes in the warehouse. The rule I work to is that If I wouldn’t put it in the post like that then don’t put it in the warehouse like that.

If they’re not on the small & light programme, then Amazon will treat every box as an individual item.
As @BarryM already said. They’ll charge you the dimension rate for every individual box, even though the boxes stack.
You’ve got to remember, Amazon won’t necessarily keep all your stock in the same location. They could choose to store 1 box in every FC, so the stacking is irrelevant.
When it comes to packaging, wrap them up (individually) like you would if you were sticking them in the post yourself. You should consider whatever extra packaging Amazon sends to customers in to be nothing more than a ‘bonus’ layer.
Your products will be transported (kicked-around) all over the country before they even reach their final home on an FC shelf. The FBA packaging will only be applied once a customer orders it.
