Sales suddenly greatly reduced
Hey all
Some advice would be welcome. I have a couple of products on amazon but am still fairly new and getting to grips with the finer details. One of my products (ASIN B07CWM8F8S) sales have suddenly came to a halt. I use sponsored products and the clicks from that have also dried up. Until the last two weeks I had been selling 2-3 a day. Now I have sold 1 in two weeks ! Any ideas / suggestions that could explain reasons why would be welcomed
Thanks in advance

Are you the only one selling the product? Are there other sellers with similar products? Is it at all seasonal? Have others started using ASP too?
There are a 1001 reasons but without knowing the product it would be difficult to tell

Looking at your listing I notice your main image has a watermark. If the bots pick that up your listing could get supressed.

When I search that ASIN the page shows several competing ASINs for what looks to be the same product, but cheaper than yours. Some of these have a better sales ranking than yours, but the others don’t. In cases like this where competing sellers each have their own catalogue page, rather than competing offers appearing on the same page, I suspect that a lot has to do with visibility in search results. It’s one of the pitfalls of “branding” generic items.
edited to add: when I search for “defrosting tray”, yours is well down the search results. Amazon’s choice, the VonShef, appears to be the same product as yours and costs only 1p more. Their main image, with the silicone rim fitted, also looks better to me. Not sure why, and it isn’t something I would ever have searched for, but that is my instant impression.

Sometimes this happens for a few days and then picks it’s self up, there are many theories about why this happens it you have a search on the forum, it could simply be down to others using repricing software.
However I have noticed that your ASIN shows a main picture as one with background/life shot. This is against Amazon’s TOS so you may have had your listing suppressed as it’s not a picture of your item with no background.
Check in your Suppressed listings tab on your Inventory in Seller Central.
Check the TOS for images: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/help.html?itemID=G16881&language=en_GB

My sales are now 1/4 of what they were 2 years ago. Essentially, what I sell in one month is what I used to sell in one week. If my sales don’t improve by Easter of next year I will close my seller account. I honestly believe that Amazon have stopped, or at least great reduced, their Google advertising budget to drive traffic to their site and are instead leaving it to seller to pay for PPC advertising. If that is truly the case then it is far more cost effective to market your own website and stop growing Amazon’s business.

Could it be they are trying to restrict the number of small sellers permitted to sell during xmas holiday periods………my sales have also dropped suddenly, despite 18 of my 20 items being the cheapest on sale

For this ASIN £12.50 the sales rank is 86,063 in Home & Kitchen by Comparison the best selling version of this product ASIN B00UZ9L3XE £14.99 the sales rank is 9,320 in Home & Kitchen. Currently running a sponsored ad’s programme on Amazon coming 4th they also have enhanced brand content on the listing indicating a large direct Amazon Vendor account as such their sponsored costs will be significantly lower.
Your product is not coming up on a generic search “Defrost Tray Rapid Thaw Board” your product is not showing up yet a lower more directly competing sales rank product ASIN B07F5Y3271 that is at a higher price is showing despite the far lower sales rank of 125,280 in Home & Kitchen and this is not via Sponsored ad’s there are a few including the top selling product. This indicates their search terms are better than what you have as the listings are similar in every other way.
Looking at the listing for you ASIN there is no issue at all it looks complete and compares with your competition and the ASIN is showing when directly searched but depending on how your customers are searching and I would presume more generically your not showing

I’d also take a look at your business reports to understand whether the problem is a lack of views or a conversion rate problem.

I have the same, one of my best seller product has not been sold for 48 hours along with others that have not been sold for a week. No obvious reason for that. Just click and all stopped. Just to add I have the same number of viewers as a week or a month ago. Sales just stopped.
