SKU / ASIN / GTIN problems

Hello,

I’m trying to list a new electrical product on Amazon. It is not a product that already exists on Amazon anywhere, but I obviously have the rights to sell it.

In the drafts page it shows the error:
“There is no record of the SKU corresponding to this update on your account. This commonly occurs when there are other issues on your SKU.”
and:
“SKU does not match any ASIN and the product data provided is not eligible for ASIN creation.”.

When I click on the product I immediately get the error:
“You are using UPCs, EANs, ISBNs, ASINs, or JAN codes that do not match the products you are trying to list. If you believe you have reached this message in error, please contact Seller Support.”

The product has a valid GTIN number and can be found using https://gepir.gs1.org/index.php/search-by-gtin

Can anyone share what exactly I need to do to resolve this issue and get the product listed please? I have tried speaking to customer services but they leave me none the wiser and keep closing the case as resolved.

Thanks.
Andrew.

The brand name you are using is probably not matching the Barcode. This error message indicates you have put in the wrong brand name.

Last time I had to request approval for a brand name I had to send photos of the product with the brand name printed directly onto it (ie not on a sticker) etc.

A few days later I got approved, however the brand I was requesting approval for is in the brand registry on Amazon and is a well known brand so that might change the process.

However that is not the problem here, the problem is that when Amazon do a search on GS1 for the EAN, its coming up with a different brand name - so you need to put the brand name in that is registered on GS1. Note that you may come up with problems with this product later when it comes to submitting your conformity documents etc (I’m assuming because its electrical some sort of safety document is required to confirm it underwent the correct safety tests) because the names might not match.

Is this a GTIN that you purchased yourself, or did it come with the product?

Thanks Smiley_Guy and Dedez, I have submitted an application for brand approval.

The GTIN was registered with GS1 and matches what I am typing on Amazon.
