Need GST/Sales Tax Help! Candian seller selling in USA.
Hello everyone, I'm a Canadian Amazon seller exclusively operating in the USA. As tax season approaches, I'm seeking clarification on GST/Sales tax matters. Specifically, does Amazon handle the collection and remittance of sales tax for me, or am I required to pay GST to the Canadian government for the sales I've conducted in the USA? Given that my sales are solely in the USA, is the sales tax automatically collected by Amazon and remitted to the respective states where the sales occurred? In essence, I'm inquiring whether I need to remit GST in Canada for the sales I've made in the USA. Thank you for any insight to anyone who responds.

You don't need to remit GST for the sales you made, BUT for what Amazon is charging you if you don't have a Canadian GST number. You are the final customer of an US company (Amazon) who sells you services like FBA fees, monthly fees, ads etc. You are buying these services from a foreign company and Amazon has to collect the Canadian GST from you. Amazon sends this money to Canada.
