Consumable Item Recall
Im a newish seller so bare with me
I have been selling a consumable product for a couple of months that there was a recall on by the FDA due to an issue during manufacture, but it only affected a certain batch of this product.
The recalled batch had a certain expiry date and batch no. I did not sell any of the product from this batch or date, i know this because the invoice from the distributor states the expiry date. I sold approx 14 units and Amazon have decided to issue refunds to all the customers that purchased the product even though my stock was not part of the recall.
Has this happened to anyone else and is there anything that can be done regarding compensation for this issue, as the decision to refund all stock rather than the affected stock has cost me several hundred pounds.
Ive contacted seller support and have received a nonsense reply abount "wanting to reinstate the listing" . As a new seller im unsure if the case can be escalated or do i have to just take the loss.
It seems a strange way for Amazon to deal with this issue rather than to just refund the effected produts by asking the customers to check the products use by date.If i then had some of the recalled stock i could then contact the distributor for a refund myself.
Thanks

This has happened previously - have a read of this post from a while back. Looks like OP did get reimbursed.

Can you share with me the case ID opened with Seller Support so I can see what I can do?
