Anyone else dealing with Royal Mail delayed items?

Hi All,

Just wondering if others are having a major problem with Royal Mail.

I’ve had a couple of indignant customers ranting about things not turning up on time. In other cases, I’ve sent replacements out, and had customers thank me, though they pointed out it took ages to arrive. In one case it took two weeks for a replacement to arrive, and another, 11 days.

I’m surprised (and thankful) that I haven’t had a bunch of A-Z claims.

I know RM say they are experiencing issues, but these delays seem quite severe.

I know someone in Kidderminster who only gets one delivery a week

I had a customer in Hampshire tell me he just got his order today, which was posted before Christmas.

He said he got a bundle of mail most of which were 2-3 weeks old.

Thankfully he was ok about it, but its a scary thought that its so delayed in some places.

I’ve had a load of messages this week from missing ones posted on the 17th/18th that have all not arrived. My local mail centre was on the service updates as delayed last week but not the week before

We regularly check service updates on Royal Mail website and can confirm there are no known delays. There is also a concern that order that would arrive two days after dispatch is now putting in a claim 17 days after receiving the dispatch confirmation which kind of defeats the ETA. It appears now they wait for a considerable period to lapse before putting in a claim with Royal Mail.

Ok, thanks everyone. A customer just contacted me to let me know they received the original, and the replacement. Fortunately, low cost items.

We only post by Royal Mail and we’ve had 2 A to Z in the last 2 weeks (our first ever). We’ve had to increase our handling time and transit time to try to compensate.

I had an order we posted on 18/12 delivered today 29/01 and this week deliveries in particular have been very slow, even seen delays on Tracked 24/48 orders.

Confirmed.

Some orders arrive within 2 - 3 days, but some 10 - 14 days or even longer.

I had a few cases when both original item and replacement have been delivered on the same day (replacement posted let’s say about 2 weeks later).

Royal Mail seem to be sacrificing a round or 2 from every sorting office to keep the other rounds running on time, most of my Royal Mail 48 items are arriving in time give or take a day but around 10% are taking up to 10 days or more

I’m having problems with royal mail scanning items as delivered around 3 days before they actually deliver it which i suspect is someone sat in the sorting office scanning delayed mail to fudge the official figures and reports

I’m not sure if its a coincidence but my eBay orders have an eBay reference code on the address label and always seem to get there without delay

Here’s the sort of twaddle that I have to deal with on occasion…“I am verry disappointed with my purchase my package was 3 days late I want a full refund or else I will report u to Amazon for scamming”

Don’t worry. I have reported THIS customer to Amazon for trying to blackmail us.
